Many people have disabilities that are visible and many have disabilities that are not. Sometimes people have both. In celebration of #InvisibleDisabiltiesWeek, we are recognizing what is seen and also unseen. Thank you to some of our residents of Inglis House for sharing their thoughts. Dyann Roth, President & CEO of Inglis, is going the extra mile for the Inglis Community! Throughout October, she is hiking as a part of #TechABreak, a month-long virtual run/walk/roll, hosted by Ray of Hope International Foundation, that is raising money for Inglis’ #AssistiveTechnology Program, which helps people with disabilities stay connected and independent through technology. https://runsignup.com/techabreak

Congrats to Patti Veltri, Volunteer Coordinator & #EmployeeOfTheMonth! Patti was nominated for being unbelievably helpful and resourceful to Inglis House since day one of the pandemic. She has jumped into every task asked of her, most of which are not even in her job description; and done so with a smile and great attitude. In these tough times, consistency and positivity are so essential. Patti has provided this through her cheerful disposition and her dedication to Inglis H...ouse and our residents. She even plays cheerful songs to uplift Inglis House over the loudspeaker. We cannot thank her enough for exemplifying our corporate values and truly setting the standard for excellence in everything she does.
Debbie Ulmer, our #ArtistOfTheMonth, loves Elton John and was extremely excited to see the most recent biopic. His songs tell stories and I like that she said. Debbie was even inspired to write a song about him titled, Keep Singing.

Having Rheumatoid Arthritis does not stop Mercier Champ from learning how to use a tablet to write emails to family and friends. Here, our Occupational and Speech Therapy staff work together to ensure, that even during quarantine, residents can stay in touch with loved ones. During the therapy process, trial and error occur to find the best method so that a resident can most successfully use a device. For Mercier, an elongated tube, a blue tooth keyboard, a wrist cuff with stylus and a ring with a stylus were all trialed before deciding that the keyboard is the best option for her. It is a win for everyone when an intervention works and when our residents are closer to family and friends!
Team Inglis is on the move! Various members of our community are challenging themselves to #TechABreak throughout October as part of a virtual Run/Walk/Roll in support of Inglis. Sponsor Team Inglis, sign up to participate, or find out more at: https://runsignup.com/techabreak
