Vitamin D hoarding I hope you know that 20 min a day of sun exposure is enough to synthesize adequate amount of vitamin D in our body. Sunscreen use does not prevent vitamin D production. Vitamin D supplements are helpful if winters are less sunny in your location.... Possible benefits of vitamin D: 1. Strong bones 2. Strong muscles 3. Immune system support 4. Fighting inflammation 5. Oral health support 6. Prevent diabetes 7. Help treat hypertension(high blood pressure) 8. He’ll loose weight 9. Help battle depression 10. Help reduce the risk of certain cancers #vitamind #summergoals #sunisfun #oceandreaming #healthylifestyle @ Asbury Park, New Jersey See more
Maskne has no chance Maskne is a condition when we experience new breakouts, blackheads, whiteheads after wearing any type of face covering for a prolonged period of time. Attention! If you had acne problems before it can aggravate your condition. However, do not call your breakouts maskne if you had acne before pandemic. Why? Because treatments differ for these two totally unrelated conditions. You can still use my advice below to control your acne. ... Maskne is caused primarily by bacteria we introduced to skin before we put on a mask and by bacteria from our mouth. Bacteria grows in wet warm oily environment much faster; therefore, when we breath and sweat under a mask we bread millions of bacteria on our skin. Only logical way to prevent this problem is to minimize initial amount of bacteria on our skin and in our mouth. What to do: 1. Wear no makeup under mask! Eye makeup is ok, but skip bb cream, foundation, powder, concealer. Only moisturizer is acceptable to apply under a mask. 2. Say a firm NO to chapstick or any mineral oil based products. Mineral oil is the worst ingredient for your skin to begin with. Plus it is a perfect breading environment for bacteria under a mask. Switch to lip balms without mineral oils. My favorite is Ormedic Lip Enhancer by @imageskincare 3. Spray inside new disposable or cotton reusable mask with liquid alcohol sanitizer before putting it on. This is also a way to kill some bacteria inside the mask if you have to reuse it. Try not to reuse though. 4. Spray (not wipe) your face with astringent toner before putting a mask on. You can spray on top of moisturizer. My favorite is Acne Warrior Clearing Astringent by @pacificabeauty 5. Rinse your mouth as often as you can throughout the day and especially after you ate before putting mask back on. My favorite mouthwash is Mouthwash Tablets by @georganics 6. Wash your face with mild cleanser as soon as you can after removing mask in the end of a day. My favorite is Milky Jelly Cleanser by @glossier 7. Moisturize plenty at night! This way your skin will produce less oil which will help to keep bacteria at bay while you sleep. (Read comment for more) #maskne See more

Skin care tip of the month Cover your body as much as you can when you are out and about. ... The reality is that almost no one wears sunscreen on their body when they are not at the beach. Therefore, we get sun damage on a daily basis on our shoulders, arms, legs, chest (the worst), neck. Here are some tips on how to preserve youthful skin and cover without being too hot. 1. Wear linen dresses, shirts, pants. Linen keeps our body cool. Trust me you will be cooler in long sleeve linen shirt than in a tank top. 2. Long dresses are cute in the summer with summer foot wear. 3. Pants and maxi skirts allow you not to worry about outgrown hair in between waxes plus they keep sun out. 4. Boatneck or crew neck collar is the best option to keep your chest area protected from sun and it looks put together. 5. Wear your hair down to protect your neck. #skincareadvice #skincaretip #skincare #summerskincare #sundamage #summerfashion #sunscreen #summergoals #skincareroutine #licensedesthetician #stayyoung See more

The worst summer skin care mistake OVERUSE OF EXFOLIATING ACIDS AND RETINOL... Using exfoliating acids like glycolic, lactic, salicylic or retinol (vitamin A) on daily basis even in small amounts can thin out your skin and make it sensitive to the sun. Better case scenario: your skin will burn or not (even if skin changes color it considered a skin damage). Skin darkening (or burn) damages your skin’s DNA causing premature wrinkles, discoloration and sagging. Worse case scenario: your skin will burn and it will cause skin cancer. Resolution: use above acids or products containing them not more than two times a week and time it at least 72 hours before you tan and 48 hours after if you didn’t burn. Discontinue use of acids if your skin is burned until it is completely healed to prevent further damage. #summerskincare #facialacids #salicylicacid #glycolicacid #lacticacid #retinol #summervibes #summergoals #beachtime #skincaretip #skincaretricks #licensedesthetician #spaphilly #philadelphia #njshore #activelifestyle #summerskincaretips #summerskincareroutine #summertime @ Asbury Park, New Jersey See more
