15 Cruze , clean and check battery . After cleaning we had 66% , put the charger on it & only rose 4% it’s the original ACDelco battery . Time for a replacement and terminal sealant

Thermostat job on a 14 CLA250 . 6 ports of cooling madness , and you get to pull the intake manifold.

Good Saturday afternoon all ! Getting a slight jump on this Saturn Vue sport , it’s a Honda underneath. Seems the forward sub-frame mounts have rotted off the frame . I’m shocked the bolt didn’t break the frame is basically being held up by the rear & the front engine mount supports a bit of weight

Working late to prep this jeep to accept new axle spring plates . The old ones were super thin . The saga of rust continues...

It’s been turbo week , Craig’s Audi , Chris’s Subaru & my Silverado . Chris’s got a huge list of repairs performed : Vf-39 turbo & up-pipe 550 or 650 pink injectors & maintenance work . Craig is upgrading his turbo as well , APR is doing the pcm . Call for an appointment October is almost full

I am in my happy place

I spend more time repairing things that are not part of the job.. rust.... rust is everywhere these days.. take this 02 Dakota for example . Every bolt that holds all the coolers & fan to the radiator were seized.. yeah I just broke the radiator because we’re replacing it but it adds time that’s not on the bill , please be patient with an older car as they most likely will encounter an issue like this. Be safe !

Wow.. I hope everyone is doing well , Beth , Phil & I are doing good . It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted anything of substance , just my cry for help a few months back. Thank you to everyone who stuck by the shop during this unprecedented global pandemic crazy huh ? Here’s a few pics of our current big job (there all big) Have a great day & see ya soon.

2014 Kia Forte - Check engine light on , P0017 exhaust camshaft correlation . Found timing chain had jumped a tooth and thought nothing of re-assembling it . Immediately on startup hard P0017. Back into the engine and found the cam phaser alignment pin had walked into the camshaft allowing the phaser to twist on the camshaft causing the P0017 . UPDATE : upon road testing on the second trip the p0017 came back . Before the light would come on immediately , checked oil pressure and found it to be low , high enough to keep the rods & mains happy but not enough to move the cam sprocket into its correct position. Moral of the story is please change your oil.. this could have been avoided.. now it needs an engine because I can’t be sure the bottom end hasn’t taken damage.

11 Subaru Forester , oil change is partly due to leakage . The bottom of the cam cover is filled with oil , so it just continues to leak even after shutting the car off. Big huge mess ! This is my office , this is my craft . Take care of yourself and your car
