Congratulations to The Jefferson School for being recognized as a 2019 Green Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. According to the agency, the aw...ard recognizes schools that: I. reduce environmental impact and costs; II. improve the health and wellness of schools, students, and staff; and III. provide effective environmental and sustainability education. Combined progress in ALL three of these areas serves as the basis for recognition. Since 2010, the school has formed partnerships with organizations throughout the region to build a Nature-centered, active curriculum for its students. Environmental Science Coordinator Bill Nelson (in photo, center) was in Dover yesterday (5/29) at an event honoring the school and to receive a banner marking the accomplishment.

So proud of the students and faculty of The Jefferson School in Georgetown DE for being named Delaware's Green Ribbon School for its efforts in environmental stewardship!
