Meet Ruby McClain, a 6th grader at JSAMS taking on the challenge of being at your best and making others better. Ruby utilitized Come Alive and PLT to explore her passion for volunteering at the SPCA. Ruby is making daily announcements and has this table set up in our lobby through April 23rd. Six fourth grade students at JSE were inspired to help our community after reading an article about community service. They planned and organized a food drive to benefit the New Love Center. Crossroads and Lingle’s heard about the project and made contributions. The girls ended up with a total of 4,421 food items! Thank you for making our community an even better place to be, Ava Knipe, Molly Dalton, Sophia Wrench, Zoe Lehman, Amelia Thomas and Abby Immel! Look for these students on WNEP this evening!

Students at Jersey Shore Area Elementary participated in Coin Wars to raise money for the family of Bobby, our seventh grader who is battling B-cell lymphoma. Bobby attended fifth grade at JSE and is seen with his fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Kephart. Bobby and his grandmother stopped in on Monday to receive their giant check for over $3200!

The Jersey Shore Area Senior High School Future Business Leaders of America celebrated the Day of Caring on November 20th by delivering goodie bags to Jersey Shore Manor Care, Nippenose Valley Village, and the Williamsport Home. The goodie bags included lots of snacks, chap-stick, cookies from Pizza 2 Go, and ice cream from Dairy Queen! Since FBLA members could not go into the facilities to deliver the goodie bags, they wrote chalk messages for the residents and staff. FBL...A members also delivered pizza, cookies, chips, and Healthcare Hero yard signs for the staff at Jersey Shore Manor Care, Nippenose Valley Village, and the Williamsport Home. The New CAD Lab is ready for instruction at the High School. The CAD Lab is supported through the American Farmers Grow Rural Education grant sponsored by the Bayer Fund awarded to the Jersey Shore Area Senior High School at the beginning of the school year. The new CAD Lab will support necessary skill development for designing and reading blue prints and schematics utilized in many Career and Technical Education programs and STEM careers. This class will support students pu...rsuing the Industrial Technologies and Engineering Pathway. The CAD Lab consists of state-of-the-art laptop computers, multiple monitors, and design printers and plotters. The new CAD Lab and course is supported through the American Farmers Grow Rural Education Grant, Carl D. Perkins Federal Grant, Jersey Shore Education Foundation, and the Jersey Shore Areas School District. Special thanks goes to Lou Anne Gasperine, the Jersey Shore Education Foundation, and the Jersey Shore Area School District Technology Department for working diligently on this grant. See more
