Bucknell Seminar for Undergraduate Poets 30.03.2021

For the past thirty-five years, the Bucknell Seminar for Undergraduate Poets has awarded fellowships to undergraduates from U.S. colleges to participate in a 3-week June gathering at Bucknell, which affords them housing, food, workshops, readings, and writing time. Alumni of the program have gone on to win National Book Awards, Lannan Foundation Fellowships, and Ruth Lilly Fellowships; to publish with such presses as Copper Canyon, Graywolf, and Knopf; and to appear in such v...enues as Poetry Magazine and The New Yorker. For the first time in its history, due to pandemic-related restrictions on in-person gatherings and spending at Bucknell and beyond, the 2020 Bucknell Seminar for Undergraduate Poets has been cancelled. The program conducted its admissions process and made selections and preparations before a cancellation became necessary. This is a loss for each person involved with the program, but especially so for the students. If you’re a friend or an alum of the Seminar, or just someone who loves poetry, we hope you’ll reach out by commenting below, welcoming the 2020 accepted students to the community of poets connected to this program.
