Finally got the first half of the front skirt shaping finished!!! Phew! I thought I’d never get there! No just need to finish the other half, join them together, and finish up the skirt. Tonight’s progress. I’m finally back to where I was when I started second guessing the increases- I’ve been chasing them with a little stitch counter! The pattern looks a little wonky, but I double checked it, and the stitches are in the right places... I guess it’ll look smoother once it’s blocked! He sneak, he peek, and then.... he join the Dark Side! Jack was a super special boy today after work. I’ve never seen a bird so committed to snuggling a blanket! Also, not so much in terms of knitting progress, since a few weeks ago, I ripped out all those stitches, thinking my math was off. It turns out I was incorrect... so I’m re-knitting it. Started working on the skirt front today and realized pretty quickly that I maybe hadn’t fully considered the fact that not only does the pattern need to match on the sides, it needs to match in the middle. I’m a little nervous about it now. And then 12 weeks later, there was a finished back dress!! So, what I will say- #fairisle wasn’t nearly as scary to design or knit as I was expecting. Designing the lace pattern for the grey panel, also not as scary as I was expecting, but it took a few swatches before I realized that you need to ACTUALLY know how to do a purl stitch. 10 swatches. In case you’re wondering. That’s how many times I had to play around with it. Because I had to use different needles for each part..., everything was knit separately and then sewn together, except for the gold band, which was knit side ways into the skirt. Also, did you see my mitered corner in the center?!?!?! I did it I did it I did it!!!!!!
