Player Spotlight Player - Skyler Reed Age - 12... School - Altoona Years in KGSL - 4 Teams playing for - Altoona, KGSL, Keystone Chaos Position - Pitcher, Center Field, 3rd base, 1st base How she got her start in softball - She started playing catch with her dad in the backyard and decided she wanted to play on a team. Future softball goals - To continue to improve her pitching and hitting. Her dream is to play softball for UCLA Bruins and go on to play on the USA Olympic team. Favorite Softball Moment - When she hit a homerun on her first at bat, first pitch during her first Jr High softball game. Family Quote - From the moment Skyler picked up a softball, we knew she loved the game. She started playing on a ponytail team for KGSL at the age of 8 and played up on a minor team that year. She started pitching that same year and fell in love with pitching. She puts in a lot of hard work to improve her skills. She has come so far and we can't wait to see where the future takes her. We are so proud of her! - Meghan Reed (Skyler's mom) Nominated by - Coach Dustin Reason for recognition - Skyler crushed a ball over the fence and did a great job pitching yesterday during her first junior high game. Skyler puts in the extra work to continue to improve her skills. She is very coachable and a great teammate. She's always willing to stick around after practice to work on something and sticks with it until she gets it right. She is one of the captions of our Chaos team and she showed why yesterday. She's very passionate and dedicated to the game. I've seen Skyler play through the years in our league and improve each year. Since making the Chaos team Skyler has improved each week and continues to push herself. We're excited to see her and the rest of the Chaos team in 2021. Congratulations Skyler and keep it up!!! Look forward to getting to see the next one go over the fence!!
