Today’s Pocono Chamber #WestEndWednesday Spotlight Business is Keystone Consulting Engineers! Keystone Consulting Engineers, Inc. is an employee-owned Pennsylva...nia corporation with twenty shareholders. Keystone has been in the practice of civil engineering since 1972 and has provided engineering, surveying, and related consulting services to numerous municipalities, authorities, and land developers throughout the Lehigh Valley and Poconos. When we asked Eric Snyder what it meant to operate this businessness within the West End he responed "Helping to open the local branch office for Keystone Consulting back in 2004 was very rewarding and fulfilling to me on both a personal and a professional level. It helped to fill a need in the community and also allowed me to continue working in the West End where I was born and raised. I really enjoy working, meeting, and dealing with the local clients and municipalities in this area." KCE was founded on a unique management approach which delegates total authority for each client or project to specific, qualified individuals. This provides a more direct link between the client and our firm and eliminates the administrative overhead associated with a top-down management style. This management philosophy provides cost-effective engineering services to all clients. The KCE team would like to give a special SHOUT OUT to all the hard working and dedicated individuals who devote their time and effort to participate in the Pocono Chamber of Commerce. "I would also like to express my gratitude to all the Chamber Employees (Marlyn, Michael, Liz, and Alison) who make this Chamber run so smooth. You guys make it fun, entertaining, and interesting day in and day out! Thank you!" said Eric Snyder. Be sure to head over to their Facebook today and like their page and show your support for one of our awesome West End Businesses! If you are a business in the West End and would like to be featured please us today!

PIDA Approves Low-Interest Loan Program to Help Small Businesses The Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) approved funding today to provide $61 ...million in low-interest loans to Pennsylvania small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. Loans of up to $100,000 will be available through the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for small businesses with 100 or fewer full-time employees to use as working capital. In addition to a low interest rate, there will be no application fees, and the terms will include no payments and no interest during the first year of the loan. Funding for the program was made possible by the CFA’s transfer of $40 million in funding to PIDA. That money will be combined with existing funds in PIDA’s Small Business First Program to provide low-interest loans to small businesses. PIDA’s priority is to ensure that when the application period is opened and businesses start to apply, the turnaround time for loan approval can be a matter of days. More details will follow as soon as the information is available. The program should be up and running later this week.

A Message from the President: The safety and well-being of everyone we work and associate with is first and foremost on our minds during this #coronavirus crisis. We have instituted policies to prevent the spread of this virus and to keep our employees and associates safe and well. As of now, all three of our KCE offices will remain open for business. We will continue to work on projects and meet any deadlines. We will be available for conference calls and are making sep...arate arrangements for picking up or dropping off drawings/information. All our staff has been instructed to take all precautions possible as instructed by the CDC, including staying home if sick, get tested if you show symptoms, reporting any illnesses to our HR Department, avoid physical contact, practice social distancing and wash their hands frequently. We are asking everyone to limit guest visits to our office. We have made arrangements for people to work from home as necessary. We have instructed all staff to use conference calls and web conferencing in lieu of face-to-face meetings, if possible. We are continually monitoring the situation on a daily basis and will make modifications, as more information is revealed by the CDC. Thank you for your continued support and understanding in these difficult times, and if you have any questions, please let me know. Stay safe everyone! Albert R. Kortze, President Keystone Consulting Engineers, Inc. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html
