Next Tuesday we'll look ahead to our 2022-2023 Season, but today we're thrilled to announce the cast of this season's closer, Once The Musical at The Playhouse at Allenberry! A testament to the power of love and music takes center stage as Keystone Theatrics concludes the 2021-22 Season with Once, the multi-award-winning musical from April 22 through May 8, 2022. From the very first note, Once draws you in and never lets go. This emotionally captivating musical is the only sh...ow to have won an Oscar, a Grammy, an Olivier Award, and a Tony. The musical, with a book by Enda Walsh and music and lyrics by Glenn Hansard and Marketa Irglova, is based on John Carney’s Academy Award-winning indie film of the same name. Once tells the story of an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant drawn together by their shared love of music. Over the course of one fateful week, their unexpected friendship and collaboration evolves into a powerful but complicated romance, heightened by the raw emotion of the songs they create together. Featuring an ensemble cast of gifted actor/musicians, this achingly beautiful, joyously uplifting show speaks to the power of music to connect us all and is a musical celebration of life and love: thrilling in its originality, daring in its honesty... and unforgettable in every way. The company of Once will feature Kayla Capone Kasper (Girl), Bradley Barkdoll (Guy), Tom Blaisse (Da), Nik Olson (Švec), Jon Knauss (Eamon/Emcee), Jessica Logan (Baruška), Ian Wallace (Billy), Coleman Lidle (Bank Manager), Shawn Mathews (Andrej), Morgan Hackett (Ex-Girlfriend), Annie Logan (Ivanka), and Shelby Snyder (Réza). Once is directed by Eric S. Mansilla with vocal and music direction by Mitchell Sensening and choreography by Dena McKell. Once will be performed on April 22, 23, 29, 30, May 6, 7, 2022 at 7:30 PM, and April 24, May 1, 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM. The show runs about 2 hours and 30 minutes including a 15 minute intermission. Once is recommended for ages 13 and up due to adult language and mature themes. Shows will be performed at the Playhouse at Allenberry, located on the Allenberry Resort at 1559 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, PA 17007. Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors over 60/military, and $15 for children and students. For seven years, a certain boy wizard went to a certain wizard school and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffswho just happened to be there too. Puffs; or, Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic is a tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. This clever and inventive play gives you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three potential heroes just trying to mak...e it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers. Their epic journey takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be. Running Time: 1 hour and 45 minutes with no intermission Suggested Ages Recommended for ages 13 and up due to some strong adult language. On matinee performances, the show has been lightly transfigured so that wizards ages 8 and up can share in the magic of Puffs, and parents can relax knowing their kids won’t learn any new curses.
