This has been such a long and beautiful fall and we’re STILL getting golden afternoons! Gorgeous view from the castle (that’s why they built it there)!

Courtney works in Europe, so it’s been a while since she and the fam all had photos together! We got a gorgeous evening up on Front Street to get some pictures before she leaves the states!

Since I JUST watched Hocus Pocus for the first time in fifteen years, I was able to deftly avoid calling any of them Marnie or asking which one was the Debbie Reynolds character.

Swipe through my TRIPTYCH to see one more Grace in her amazing handmade renaissance faire dress that was perfectly altered by her incredible costumer mom (just out of screen, having flung the dress in the air before diving out of frame), pretending to play the guitar that she ACTUALLY plays incredibly well @ Cathedral of Learning

And we bebopped around the Pitt campus and did some serious hiking down closed roads to find the TUFA STONE bridge deep in a park I had a broken toe and @gracerusnica was in some talll wedges but THAT’S SHOWBIZ @ Schenley Park

Throwback Thursday to Grace and her senior portraits in Pittsburgh! She was floating effortlessly in the alleys while I was crouching between recycling bins and that’s showbiz! @ Strip District, Pittsburgh

THREE YEARS AGO with Melina! More and more often I'm driving around and the weather is gorgeous and I see some beautiful scene and I want to use it in a portrait! Fall's a-coming! It's senior photos season!!

Matinees are weird - always, but especially in community theatre. You say goodbye to every scene at the blackout, every character at your final exit, and the daylight leaks into the backstage darkness to mock you that life will go on, is going on, even as this world you’ve built ends. . Jack Kelly was a dream role for our Jack, and everyone knew it as he closed Act I with his final Santa Fe and laid down, hidden onstage on the scaffolding staring up at the grid as the audie...nce stirred for intermission. . . . #newsies #communitytheatre #summeratthestate See more

During the show we all watch: some for cues, some for notes, most of us because there’s a musical happening right at your fingertips and how could you pay attention to anything else? I love being backstage to show that crossing the line from fan to performer and back is as simple as breaking the leg. . . . #bts #newsies #summeratthestate #backstage #musicaltheatre #crutchie @ State Theatre Center for the Arts

It was headshot day at Stage Right summer camp! Here’s just a couple of the 87(!) campers I took pictures of on Thursday! Their camp shows are this weekend, so this batch of campers included Belles, Beasts, Jesuses, Judases and Joanne the office manager! #headshots #pittsburghheadshots #theatrecamp

It’s MAMMA MIA time at the State Theatre!! Lauren literally is Tanya IRL, and she’s been great to get to know! She’s one of those people that Theater People spend years trying to pull into a show, and here she finally is! Snarky and really insightful about the growth and fear of taking the plunge to do theater for the first time in a long time.

MAMMA MIA at the State Theatre has Rebecca (our Velma Kelly from a few years ago) bringing it back to the stage - one of those actors, even early in the process, who you stop everything to watch because she Brings It 100% from day zero and just gets better from there. Everyone in the building works harder when she’s there!
