Zering was the Star of the Week this week in Mrs. Whitlinger and Mrs. Hill's Pre-K. So many of our students agree Spiderman is their favorite superhero, so their "spidey" senses must have been tingling with excitement when Zering's mom read one of his favorite books to the class called, "Spidey Amazing Friends: Super Hero Hiccups." Even with a bad case of the hiccups, Spidey managed to stop the Green Goblin! We all know Spiderman's hands can stick to anything (and preschoolers often have sticky hands too). So the kids loved the game Zering's mom planned where each student slapped a "Sticky Hand" toy to see if they could catch a Green Goblin or one of his Pumpkin Pranks. They even could see how much pretend money could stick to their toy. Later, the class enjoyed donuts Zering shared. Thank you, Kosecki Family.

Lily was Star of the Week in Mrs. Whitlinger and Mrs. Hill's Pre-K class. Her special guest was her Mee-Maw (Lily thinks it is HILARIOUS if you refer to Mrs. Jefferson as her "Grandma"). Lily shared some great pictures of her family, and of some of her favorite activities like soccer and dance class. Mrs. Jefferson read one of Lily's favorite books called, "No One Likes a Burp". It is about how Burp and her friend Fart are often unwanted, but their kindness can overcome first impressions. The students made their own Burp or Fart characters out of dyed cotton balls. Thanks, Mee-Maw and Lily for a fun morning... it was a gas. (Sorry, I went too far with that one ).

We had a wonderful time celebrating today with our thanksgiving feast in Mrs. Lloyd and Ms. Shaeffer’s pre-k! The class worked together to make jello and homemade butter. The students also brought in items from home to make our fruit cornucopias, which were delicious! We read a thanksgiving story together and then talked about what we are thankful for some of my favorite answers were mom and dad, dogs to snuggle with, birthdays, Christmas trees, and Santa Claus. We also had fun playing in the teepee and building with Lincoln Logs. For our feast, we had turkey, cheese, rolls with homemade butter, fruit salad cornucopias (in waffle cones), jello, and orange punch. It was an amazing day with a great group of students that we are very thankful for! Happy thanksgiving!

Alaina was the star last week in Mrs. Lloyd and Ms. Shaeffer’s class. We learned that Alaina wants to be a doctor and a firefighter when she grows up, and she loves to play with her brothers and eat ice cream. Her mom visited the classroom on Friday and shared one of Alaina’s favorite stories with the class, Peppa Goes Apple Picking. After listening to the story, the students danced to The Freeze Dance and The Floor is Lava. It was such a fun week and it was really nice to learn so much about Alaina!
