Getting a mid-afternoon snack yesterday...

Kindred Souls KV Eleanora (Rosasharn Katerina’s Vincent *B x Kindred Souls OD Annie) freshened yesterday afternoon with twin does. These kids are sired by Kindred Souls AT Filbert (Proctor Hill Farm Atlantis *B x Sugar Moon NS Violet). The genetics in this breeding are power packed..... I was very pleased with Nora’s FF udder, so am very much looking forward to her 2F udder. The doe kids are less than an hour old in these pictures.

Next up to freshen is Kindred Souls KV Eleanora. Nora will be a 2F and I am anxious to see the development in her udder since her first freshening as I was in love with her FF udder and in awe on how she is maturing.....hopefully following suit with her dam, Kindred Souls OD Annie (2019 LA: VEEV89).

It’s something how fast plans can change... been watching the weather forecast all week and made plans on ‘spring’ cleaning the junior doe stall today as it was to be near 50 degrees, sunny, and pleasant for a mid-March day. Well, checked the forecast this morning before heading to the barn and bam! Just like that - plans put on hold. Only around 40 with high wind and a low of 12 tonight. Needless to say, the stall cleaning has been put off until next weekend....

What better than to take a couple vacation days off work to spring clean (aka: muck) some of the stalls from the winter.....more to do this weekend.

This is what our Sunday entailed.... 15 kids tattooed, vaccinated, supplement treatment given, and feet trimmed. Thanks to the hubby for helping - made it go much smoother (and quicker) with his help

Helderberg VR Chantilly freshened on day 149 with buck/doe twins. I was sure she was carrying more than twins by the size of her, but after weighing them, it could have easily been quads! The buck weighed 4.55# and the doe weighed 4.4# - a couple of decent sized kids. For Kindred Souls Farm, these are the last two kids sired by Proctor Hill Farm Atlantis *B before letting him return to Lori at Lady Walkers Half Moon Farm. Although a total outcross, the genetics behind these kids should prove rewarding!

Helderberg VR Chantilly is due to kid next week - day 145 is the 16th. If the forecast stays true, anyone want to take a guess on when she will indeed freshen?
