In response to recent social distancing recommendation we have decided to close the studio for the time being. We still believe it is important that our students have access to yoga, and so Kindred will be live-streaming classes! The decision to live stream vs other options was made because it allows us to interact with the community you all have helped us build. We understand that sometimes the unknown can be a little intimidating. To help ease some of those beginner jitters we have created an intro workshop. What you can expect: In our 90 minute "Intro to Yoga" workshop, you'll have fun getting your feet wet in the company of other beginners.You’ll learn about what yoga is, explore good breathing, practice some foundational yoga poses, and experience deep relaxation. We’ll put your mind at ease, help you choose variations of poses... that work for your body, and help you get comfortable at Kindred Yoga. You’ll also get to see the studio, learn about our different classes and which class best suits you, meet our staff and other beginner yogis, and get your questions answered. After the scheduled workshop, sign up for any weekly Gentle Yoga, Hatha Basics, or Flow 1 class and put what you learned into practice. Yoga is for all ages! Here at Kindred we don't want your age to be a reason to prevent you from being able to benefit from yoga, which is why we offer a special 60+ class several days a week. Here at Kindred Yoga we like to focus on all the benefits of having a yoga practice both on and off the mat. Yoga is obviously beneficial on the physical level, but also very beneficial on our mental health as well. Not just on your mat but even when you step off your mat and throughout your day. It has been proven to help treat anxiety, depression and other nervous disorders because of the direct impact it has on your central nervous system.
