Join us for a walk through this extensive renovation which was recently honored with a Pyramid Award! After retirement, this client sold her house in the Hazelt...on area and moved to join her daughter and son-in-law in an existing in-law suite attached to the house. She had a very distinct vision for incorporating her existing furniture and style into her new rural in-law suite. To accomplish this, a design was developed that nearly doubled the size of the suite to almost 2,100sqft with room sizes and finishes which were carefully crafted to coordinate with the pieces that were going to be housed there. This provided the space that she needed for a full dining room, kitchen with island and separate hutch, living room with fireplace and master suite with spacious bathroom and walk in closet. The back of the in-law suite incorporated a screened in porch that allows for a leisure enjoyment of the mountain view. Also taken in to consideration during design were the client's pet cats. The client wanted to make sure that her cats were able to move freely throughout the rooms and enjoy both entertainment and relaxation. Floating shelves in multiple rooms led to over 50’ of cat walk and a special Romeo and Juliet balcony. These elements were designed and incorporated to not only function for the cats, but also add visual interest to the client’s Victorian décor. The Victorian style was continued throughout with crown molding, paneled designs in the master bedroom and a wall-papered bathroom. See more

This project included expanding and adding a window to the previously cramped and dated master bathroom. The master bedroom was updated with new windows and the walk-in closet features built-ins for organization. The foyer received a new front door, tile floor and a complete rebuild of the stairway and railing.
