NON-STREET LEGAL VEHICLES Residents of Kittanning Borough, as Spring is upon us and Summer is just around the corner, we are asking for your assistance in stopping a growing issue that needs to end. Non-street legal vehicles such as ATVs and Quads, as well as mini bikes and dirt bikes, are traveling our streets, alleys and walking trail. We are asking that when you observe these types of vehicles driving illegally throughout the borough, please call 911 to report it. Try to... give a brief description of the operator, the type of vehicle they are driving and their last known direction of travel. Residents having home camera systems that can get a photo of the person and vehicle may be asked by police to use their footage as a tool to track down the individual. Those that are committing these violations can and will be fined under Title 75 Vehicle Code Section 1301 Registration and Certificate of Title Required. See more

UPDATE: Hometown Heroes Banner Project Just a reminder, we have reached the FIRST 2021 application deadline of APRIL 1, 2021 for the Hometown Heroes banner campaign. All banners ordered by the first deadline date will be hung by Memorial Day provided the applicants have approved the art work sent to them in an email from troopbanners.com. Any applications received between now and the SECOND deadline of JULY 1, 2021, will be processed; however, the second round of banners w...ill not be hung until sometime in August once we have received all of them from troopbanners.com. The same application can still be used for the second round. IMPORTANT BANNER APPROVAL NOTICE: Please note, it is the responsibility of the applicant to approve the art work of your banner in the email that you receive from troopbanners.com before they will print your banner. We have a lot of banners pending approval by the applicants. Please make this approval a priority or we cannot guarantee that your banners will be hung in the first round. Just a heads up, going forward and beginning in 2022, there will only be ONE deadline date each year which we be on or about April 15th. We are excited to get the banners up in our community and have been working hard to make this happen. The first round will be up for Memorial Day. Thank you, Mayor Kline

Kittanning Borough Mayor Scott Kline has announced that he has set Trick or Treat in the Borough for Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 2:00 PM 4:00 PM. With this past school year having been cut short and many events this past summer having been canceled, Mayor Kline feels that it is only fair for the kids to have some sense of normalcy during this pandemic. With schools back in session, there should not be any reason that we should steer away from Trick or Treat, said Kl...ine. However, in the event that the pandemic situation worsens or should area schools be closed once again, the afternoon festivity will be canceled. Mayor Kline urges everyone to practice all guidelines set forth by the CDC, including socially distancing, as well as being respectful of others and asks everyone to not Trick or Treat in large groups. He is also suggesting that residents wishing to provide treats for the kids, give out only items that have been pre-packaged prior to purchasing and that no homemade treats of any kind be given. Although Trick or Treat will take place during the day, residents participating in handing out treats are asked to either turn on their porch lights or sit outside if possible to let the children know where they can stop. Please make sure that your children are mindful of the traffic and that everyone stays safe during this event.
