One stop Service Provider KMX provided full service for a foreign customer requiring critical modifications on three 80,000lb pumps, prior to delivery to the US jobsite. Upon delivery to a USEC Port, KMX supplied our Hamburg, PA facility as a stop off destination. Hamburg, PA flexibility After several weeks attempting to have out of gauge cargo booked and secured onto flat racks using NY ports, KMX’s customer switched the ocean booking to Port of Baltimore. Given KMX’s location, it was an easy adjustment to accommodate. After packaging, and with less than a week’s notice to make the vessel, KMX transported 6 truckloads of oversized crates to Port of Baltimore and coordinated flat-rack lashing, including NCB inspections. KMX’s Hamburg, PA location allows same day service to NJ/NY, Philadelphia, and Baltimore ports. Big thanks to Ports America Packaging for the special attention on this shipment. Diverted to KMX KMX was contacted afterhours by a Marine Survey Group, requesting assistance with an import shipment. While In route from Port of Baltimore to Michigan, the driver claimed that he felt and heard contents of a package had shifted. The box (30,000lb 40’ x 8’ x 10’ lwh) was re-routed to KMX’s Hamburg, PA facility, trans-loaded by KMX onto KMX trailer. KMX crew assisting the marine survey company supervision, performed a thorough inspection and made necessary corrections, reloaded the over the road carrier’s trailer to allow safe transport to the customer facility. KMX rigging crews recently unloaded and installed a new milling machine measuring 36’ x 12’x 11’ 5 lwh 85,000lbs for a local customer. Due to tight working conditions and the machine’s awkward lifting requirements, KMX elected a (2) crane unloading approach. Big thanks to I.B. While finishing up a current shipment an interesting perspective came to light...it would take (20) "small" rolls to equal the weight of the pictured large roll.
