I’ve been blessed to meet some awesome dads over the years!

This is very similar to how my views on breastfeeding evolved.

This is adorable!

As I watch this video, I cringe. I was almost hospitalized a week after giving birth to my youngest child after doing far less than this mom is doing. Women need better support after giving birth.

I hope people will use this news as a reminder to consider how they are protecting their families while traveling. In PA, children up to age 8 need to be in an approved child safety seat. EVERYONE in the vehicle should use appropriate restraints. Contact Super Car Seat Geek if you need help figuring out your kids’ seats.

It’s unfortunate that now WOC in the US are more likely to die of complications in birth than white women.

Be careful how you let headlines sway you! This is a great breakdown. Conflict of interest statement: I do not drink coffee, but instead get my caffeine from dark chocolate. Too much dark chocolate.

Do you have any snow day traditions in your home? In my home, after sledding, I make homemade donuts for my kidsinstructions in the comments.

How did the reality of feeding your newborn compare to what your expectation was? What do you think of this visual description?

Hi there! I've been a childbirth educator for 18 years...but this year things have changed FAST! For expectant parents, when it comes to being pregnant during this COVID epidemic, there can be many challenges. I'm conducting a survey of Expectant Parents for my upcoming Masterclass project. I would love to get insights from expectant parents. I invite women who are pregnant or who have given birth since March 2020 to participate. Your feedback will be making an important contribution to this topic and I'll be sharing the top challenges with you, along with specific resources to address those challenges, once the survey is completed. The survey takes less than 3 minutes to complete, and you can get started now by going to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9W22P8K I look forward to sharing these insights and resources with you. Thank you!

"After writing an article detailing my ordeal, I was appalled to learn that my negative experience was not unusual. But why had I never heard about the rampant ...mistreatment of pregnant women prior to my own delivery?" There is some great information here about the history of commercially prepared baby food.

I’ve definitely found it difficult at times to find information specific to women’s health. How about you?

Were you allowed to give consent in labor, or did you care providers assume ownership of your body?

Knitted in the Womb 17.09.2020

This is so true.

Though this is from the UK, it’s very true in the US as well. This is why it can be so important to take independent childbirth classes and hire a doula. The headline seems to under-report the data in the article. It seems that much more than 25% weren’t respected...that it was more like only 25% felt their decisions WERE respected.

Do you get breaks as a mom? What do you do?

How do you view your postpartum body? How can we honor it more?

There is a lot of wisdom in this post! What do you like to do with your kids?

This looks really cool! I know I loved my backpack carrier for toddlers & preschoolers. What type of carrier do you love?

Knitted in the Womb 27.06.2020

Would you add any rules?

Doula life. This happened after a very tiring shift with a client who had just been taken to the OR for a cesarean.
