It’s unfortunate that now WOC in the US are more likely to die of complications in birth than white women.

This is so true.

Though this is from the UK, it’s very true in the US as well. This is why it can be so important to take independent childbirth classes and hire a doula. The headline seems to under-report the data in the article. It seems that much more than 25% weren’t respected...that it was more like only 25% felt their decisions WERE respected.
