Dr. Even received her first dose of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine yesterday morning, and was interviewed by the Philadelphia Inquirer in the process. Thank you to the Montgomery County Office of Public Health for making vaccines available to healthcare workers in our region.

Happy New Year from all of us at KOP Family Eye Care! Yesterday, Dr. Ellwood wrapped up 2020 by receiving his first dose of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine. We are in the process of securing vaccines for other staff as well. Since we reopened in May, we've done our best to keep staff and patients safe while still providing top quality eye care. We want to thank all our patients for your cooperation in dealing with the extra precautions we've put in place. Thanks to you, we've... come back from the shutdown stronger than ever. In preparation for reopening our office, we plan to enact extensive safety protocols. Listed below is a quick summary of what you can expect when you call to schedule your next appointment at King of Prussia Family Eye Care. - You will be asked a series of screening questions when calling to schedule an appointment. - We are planning to make all paperwork available on our website so that you can complete it at home and email it to us before your appointment, rather than doing... so in person in the office. Our goal is to limit contact as much as possible. - Please wait in your car upon arrival. Call the office when you arrive and we will provide further direction. Do not come inside the office until you are told to do so. - We ask that you come to your appointment alone if possible. If not, we ask that you are only accompanied by one person. - You will not be allowed to enter the office without a mask, with exceptions made only for young children. - We will perform temperature screenings via non-contact thermometer on anyone wishing to enter the office. - We intend to keep the small talk to a minimum for the foreseeable future. Normally we love catching up with our patients and being more than just your eye doctor, but limiting exposure is paramount at this time. - All office surfaces, eyeglass frames tried on by patients, and equipment will be thoroughly cleaned between patients. Our practice's success is dependent upon the loyalty of our patients, and that's true now more than ever. Thank you for sticking with us through this unprecedented crisis. We're excited to announce that we've made a big investment in our practice that will enhance our ability to provide the best patient care possible! We've added a state-of-the-art imaging system that will allow us to care for patients with glaucoma (shown in the image below), macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and other eye conditions in house. The response to our reopening has been tremendous. Thank you to all our patients for supporting our office, and for your patience with our COVID-19 safety protocols.
