Families either had to buy fuel from a coal company, dealer, or pick it from waste banks. The Enos Horst coal wagon is an example of the early vehicles that wer...e used to supply residents with anthracite fuel. This wagon was capable of carrying two tons of coal and could divide the deliveries into two one-ton transactions. It has a scissor mechanism to elevate the bed and dump the coal. Horst was an electrical contractor, farmer, real estate speculator, and later a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1955 to 1967. Horst’s coal delivery and farm supply business was located on the west side of Chambersburg between Chambersburg and Fort Loudon, PA. See more

Super happy with the result of this project. Hope the folks are pleased for years to come! Turned an unattractive basement wall into their washroom oasis. Functionality is always in your best interest and I think we hit the balance right... Big thanks to Matt for the help on his project.
