Update 4/21: We are open and keeping pretty busy taking care of pets. We are having the public stay out of our clinic for now, calling us when you arrive,and either taking pets inside to do our examinations, testing, and procedures, or in some cases examining on a table outside. We are trying to maintain "social distancing" and are wearing masks. Medication is easy to dispense using curbside pickup, and I am very concerned about dogs missing out on flea/tick medication rig...ht now, so just call us and we will get it for you. It's pretty common that we see tick disease spread to dogs when clients stop giving the medication, and we have it for cats as well. One thing has impacted me strongly in all of this. In seeing mostly sick and injured animals in the last 6 weeks, I think about what would have happened had we not been allowed to be open. My 3 awesome helpers, Nancy, Emily and Jen, have helped me as a team to do some much needed surgeries and treatments, and without being open, there would have been many unhappy endings. I'm impressed with how important veterinary medicine can be at times, and also how wonderful my helpers are.
