KUTZTOWN FRIENDS URGENT ACTION REQUIRED! The public comment period will end on Wednesday for a permit revision being requested by New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co,. Inc. that would threaten the borough's drinking water supply. Unfortunately, there isn't adequate time for residents to educate themselves on the issues before the comment period ends. In addition, the period to request a public hearing and a public meeting on the application ends on Wednesday, as well. Please sign the letter we'll submit to the Department of Environmental Protection to request an extension, a hearing and a meeting. PLEASE use the space provided to add your own comments. The Kutztown Environmental Advisory Commission's Rain Barrel workshop starts at 10 a.m. at the Kutztown Area Elementary School, 40 Normal Avenue. We're all sold out of rain barrels and parts! Hope to do more of these in the future, but, if you missed this one, Kate Harms is doing a Rain Garden Workshop on May 11th with her own Longswamp Township Eac. Registration and rain barrel orders are being taken, but you need to register right away!
