Let me preface the following by saying, "This is why we can't have nice things." I was over at the community pavilion this morning, getting it ready for someone to use today for a birthday party by cutting the grass and cleaning up the area as best as I could. Here is what I found, which is completely and utterly disrespectful: 1) Garbage in the fire pit, which included beer cans AND two DIRTY diapers 2) Trash all over the place including water bottles and candy wrappers... 3) Cigarette butts strewn all about the area 4) Dog poop around the area Here's the deal...we do our best to keep this area open, clean and available for use to EVERYONE in the area. Please be RESPECTFUL of the grounds and know that you are NOT the only one using them. We have a lot of volunteers that willingly give up their FREE time to come and upkeep this area, and it is not fair to have them pick up after you, your kids or your pets like they are your personal maid service. There are garbage cans by the pavilion area, USE THEM, and if they happen to be full, there is a dumpster by the concession stand. Dog poop should also be either discarded in the dumpster area in a CLOSED bag or taken with you when you leave. Parents, please make sure your kids pick up after themselves and throw away trash - I get it, they're kids, they might not understand, but here's your moment to teach them how to show some respect to not only the people around them but also the environment in which they live. I also understand that sometimes it looks a bit crazy up near the pavilion area with things not finished, etc., and we take full responsibility for that. Please keep in mind that we are working on continuing our efforts to clean up and "revitalize" the area, but unfortunately, with COVID-19, we have been unable to obtain a lot of the materials we need at the moment to complete our projects. We all need to do our part in keeping the grounds as clean as possible so that others can enjoy it too. If we continue to see things like this happen, the Association will have no other choice than to take action, which, in my mind, after what I saw today, is not limited to include fencing in the entire area, locking the gate and closing the area. Do you really want that to happen? I know that I do not - it's really simple...be kind, be respectful. That is all. Thank you!

If you are curious about reserving the pavilion for an event this year, please go to our google calendar (https://tinyurl.com/kylertowncommcalendar - also listed under Products section) and let us know if you're interested in reserving the pavilion. Reservations are free, but if you'd like to give us a donation for using the facility, we'd appreciate that. Although reservations are not required to use the pavilion area, if you don't want anyone "crashing your party," it's wise to block it off. Please keep in mind that we are not sanitizing the facility and it is "use at your own risk." We hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe during these uncertain and crazy times!
