To kick off our busy tree planting season, we planted 3 trees in the cold with the brave boys and girls from Pack 59 Erie, PA - Our Lady of Peace! We also studied the leaves and flowers of a dogwood tree and painted what we saw on rocks that we left at the base of their new trees! Our outdoor tree planting lessons are unique to you and your group’s needs. Sign up for fall planting lessons today: www.releaferie.org

We are looking for someone to help us track our trees! This is a really unique and cool opportunity to help an environmentally forward organization track and collect data on the trees we are planting. This is a flexible task and can be done on your own time/remotely. You do not need to be a data-driven scientist to fill this volunteer position! We will train you on how to use the application. We anticipate this being a task that takes anywhere from 30minutes - 2 hours, weekly.... Some weeks will require little to no data tracking, while Spring time may require more. You are: able to use/have access to a Mac or PC computer efficient in microsoft excel willing to occasionally collect data on-site in Erie County Perks: you can have your hand in a large, community-based initiative that is sweeping through Erie County! free LEAF merch flexible & secure volunteer position feel good making a difference in your community! Please DM us or email [email protected]
For anyone that wanted to pick up saplings today but could not due to weather - we will be available tomorrow (Monday, November 16th) between 3-5pm to hand out some more. Thanks!
We spent Monday at Inner City Neighborhood Art House talking about the importance of trees while studying leaves, composition, and color! We are so excited to plant 25 trees in their backyard with the students help.
We had a great day yesterday talking with the students at Inner City Neighborhood Art House about how to care for trees! We studied tree rings and discussed living vs. non living, and why it is important to properly nourish our trees, and ourselves. We know it's not quite Thanksgiving time, but we still found time to reflect on what we are thankful for while drawing our tree trunks! Thank you NAH for having us We're so excited to plant 25 trees in your backyard next week!
We're putting a hault to the tree giveaway due to weather! We have plenty more, so please reach out to us this week if you would like some saplings to plant at home.
Rain or shine! First come first serve. See you today from 12-5! A friendly reminder that this is a drive up event. Masks are required and we ask that you stay in your car. For more information: www.ReLeafErie.org/treegiveaway
Art House students did some hands-on learning about trees and leaves with the help of Jamie Keim and Rosa Showers of the LEAF Education Center on Monday. Students painted vibrant fall leaves this week and they'll help plant trees next week :)

We wanted to quickly thank all of you - vendors, volunteers, customers, and more - for coming to our final Open Market of the season! We are so grateful for our amazing community that came out to support us in so many ways. Our goal was to provide a safe, enjoyable space for local businesses to get their name out there and for the citizens of Erie to safely shop their necessities outdoors. You all helped us do just that. We know many of you have asked about our future market... schedule, or are interested in being a vendor yourself, so we want to clarify some things! We plan on having a more consistent market schedule this upcoming spring, summer, and fall and hope to start as soon as the warmer weather breaks! We will have a schedule in place well before the season starts and will share that with you all as soon as we can. Our vendors who have stuck with us and shown up throughout the planning of these pop-up markets with the uncertainty of Covid will have priority with us next season. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we simply cannot include everyone, so we ask that you are patient with us while we do our best to include as many vendors as possible while still adhering to strict guidelines from the Department of Health! If you are interested in being a vendor with us next season, or you have any general questions, please email us at [email protected].
We’re good to go! So many awesome vendors currently setting up! See you all from 10-2
Thank you to the Erie Reader for the awesome write up! See you tomorrow from 10-2 :)
We're so excited for the market tomorrow! We know there is some concern about the weather, however, after looking at the forecast and seeing that the chance of rain is only 30% until 10am, we are STILL ON! We definitely don't want to cancel due to grey skies in the morning and subsequently have it clear up to be a great day by 10am! If anything, we will just push back the market hours a bit, if need be. We are feeling confident that it will end up being a beautiful day - we ...hope you feel the same! Everyone is so excited for tomorrow, so we expect a really great turn out like all of our past markets. Should the skies truly open up and we find the need to reschedule entirely, we will tentatively plan for next Saturday, the 10th. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
We spent the morning digging holes at Inner City Neighborhood Art House to prepare for a tree-planting day in October! We are so excited to teach a small group of students about the importance of trees and give them the opportunity to plant, nourish, and watch the trees in their own backyard grow
Our last market of the season! We're doing things a little different this time. We've added some local non-food vendors & artists and the time is now from 10am-2pm. We will also have live background music. Social distancing and mask wearing is still a must. Thank you for helping us make this a safe event under very weird circumstances! Hope to see you all there.
We’re interested in hearing from you! Feel free to comment, DM us, or shoot an email to [email protected]. Please understand that we may not be able to respond to each and every one of you. Our markets are well thought-out and follow our local health department’s guidelines and recommendations. We would love to include everyone that reaches out, but we simply cannot at this time. Thank you! LEAF
