Rest In Peace Dr. Albert Barnett The veterinary community of western Pennsylvania has lost a pioneer and inspiration to so many. Dr. Albert Barnett’s passion for veterinary medicine and agriculture has touched the lives of thousands of clients and 4-H members. He will be greatly missed by his clients, colleagues, and 4-H family! Our thoughts and prayers are with the Barnett family at this difficult time.

Seresto Collar Safety - we have been receiving numerous calls and questions about the recent media concern over the safety of the Seresto collar. Lakeview Animal Clinic has sold and recommended the collar since its initial approval in 2012. We can confidently say that is has been one of the safest and most effective products that has ever been on the market for flea/tick prevention. However, as with any medication, parasite prevention, or supplement there is always the possib...ility of individual sensitivities. We have seen few mild reactions to the collar that almost exclusively manifested as hair loss and skin irritation or allergic reactions leading to vomiting / diarrhea. The VERY few reactions we have seen were self limiting and the pets easily recovered once the collar was removed. Only in a few rare instances was any medical treatment needed and have never suspected a death from a reaction to the collar. We will continue to carry and recommend the collar as we are confident in its safety and understand the essential need for effective tick prevention. We are in one of the worse areas in the country for Lyme disease and feel that if you pet is not on tick prevention it is only a matter of time before they get infected. We can also assure you that the collars were carry are straight from the manufacture and guaranteed to be authentic. That cannot be guaranteed with any collars sold at any other retailers or online sales. Hopefully this answers some of your questions! If you have any further questions do not hesitate to give us a call.

Farmers work with a lot of outside sources to keep their animals health a priority. Today we got to work with Lakeview Animal Clinic to check on our cows and s...ee who was going to be having calves in the next few months. Having an established relationship with a Veterinarian is incredibly important! Not just for sick animals but to make sure you're doing all the right things to keep them healthy. Thank you Dr. Stas and Britney for spending the afternoon with our happy cows!

BIG NEWS!! After multiple years of searching we have found an exceptional addition to our veterinary team! Please help us welcome Dr. Jordan Fairman! Dr. Fairman is the newest member of our Lakeview Animal Clinic team. She has quickly proven to be a valuable and outstanding asset to our veterinary family. Dr. Fairman is a 2016 Penn State graduate and earned her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. Dr. Fairman is originally from... DuBois, PA where she grew up on a small, family Holstein dairy farm. Growing up she enjoyed showing cattle, swine, and sheep through her local 4-H and during her time at PSU. Dr. Fairman will join our veterinary staff and provide both large and small animal veterinary services. Her veterinary interests in large animal medicine are advanced reproductive techniques, nutrition, and herd health. She also enjoys attending to small animal appointments with an interest in internal medicine and problem-solving. During her free time she enjoys all aspects of the outdoors including hiking, fishing, and kayaking. She is excited to begin her career here at Lakeview Animal Clinic and become more involved with our beautiful community. Please help me welcome Dr. Fairman to our team when you see her in the office. She is currently open for small animal appointments in the office and will be soon available for large animal farm calls.
