National Volunteer Week: Volunteering From Home On the last day of NVW, we honor those volunteers who are not able to be with us right now due to the pandemic. We can't wait for the day that they can return to our sites, and deeply appreciate their thoughts and prayers for us from home. We'll be here when they're ready to serve again!
National Volunteer Week: Hey there, ReStore! Our Lancaster ReStore volunteers are a versatile bunch. They lift, organize, sort, greet, display, price and assist our donors and shoppers. They are critical to helping our store operate and support our affordable homeownership mission through their hard work. This pre-COVID pic of students from Farmingdale State College is one example of the great folks who come our way. Thank you, ReStore volunteers!! We’re grateful for all you do!
National Volunteer Week: Our Board and Committees Day 6 of this celebratory week and we turn the spotlight on the many Habitat supporters serving on our board and committees, some pictured here. You don't always see them--working behind the scenes--but they are putting pieces into place that affect every aspect of our organization. It's been tough not seeing them in-person over this past year, and we can't wait for the day we can plan, organize, dream, brainstorm, strategize and decide face to face.
National Volunteer Week: Construction! Day 4 of this special week and we’re sending virtual high fives to our construction volunteers. These Habitat friends get messy, climb scaffolds, brave paint splattering and master power tools to build safe, warm and dry homes. This photo is a great example of their camaraderie and enthusiasm. Thank you construction vols!!!
National Volunteer Week: Our Long-term Volunteers Day 3 of this celebratory week, we give a big shout-out to our Habitat AmeriCorps , Brethren Volunteer Service members and student interns, working to build affordable homeownership. Their day-in and day-out dedication allows us to build more homes and touch more lives. Whether you currently serve with us or have in the past, we tip our Habitat hard hats to you!
It's National Volunteer Week... our chance to say THANK YOU to the hundreds of volunteers who make Habitat happen. And to kick off our celebration, we have a special video to share. Keep an eye on Facebook, Instagram and our website for expressions of gratitude throughout the week.
Volunteers are the heartbeat of Habitat. They touch every part of our organization and, in the process, countless lives. They share their time and talents on build sites, at ReStore and through committees. Simply put, we couldn't carry out our affordable homeownership mission without them. So expect a big "hurrah" from us to our vols during National Volunteer Week next week. You can take part in our virtual acts of gratitude through social media and our website. Better yet, you can be part of this celebration by volunteering with us! visit www.llhfh.org/volunteer-opportunities to sign up.
Less than one week away... National Volunteer Week gives the rest of us at Habitat an opportunity to say "Thank You" in a big, beautiful way. This includes our homeowners, who work side-by-side with vols on the construction sites, ReStore and through mentor programs. Future homebuyer Manny (left), pictured here with Salim (also in our program), says, "Thanks to Habitat and working with volunteers , I get to learn how to put up walls AND what you can’t see behind them, before I even moved in. The experience homeowners and volunteers share is lasting, meaningful and so wonderfully unique! #LLFHFvols2021
Here's a great opportunity for a very important task... join us for our free estate planning workshop, led by Attorney Angela Ward of The Law Offices Of Going And Plank. Zoom information will be shared with your rsvp.
Today we begin advocating for home, from home with the start of Habitat's first-ever virtual Habitat on the Hill. Over 700 Habitat leaders, volunteers and homeowners from across the country--incl. from our own team--will be meeting with their local lawmakers to discuss fair housing policies to make home affordable. We look forward to conversations on housing production, foreclosure protection measures, neighborhood revitalization and COVID-19 relief so families can remain in their homes. If you want to help amplify our collective voice, use this email template here to contact your representatives. #HabitatontheHill https://habitatforhumanityinternational.salsalabs.org/covid _campaign=covid19action.
It's almost National Volunteer Week and our team has a thing or two to say about it! #llhfhvols2021
What a difference drywall makes! And windows. And doors. And a whole lotta volunteer work. This is a "before" and "now" of Ronnie's future home in #lebanonpa. This house is becoming a home!
It was a busy weekend of building, fixing, cleaning at our Habitat build sites. Our volunteers and future homebuyers worked side by side to get these houses closer towards being safe, warm and dry homes.
Due to the snow storm, our program office will be closed today and our team working remotely. Stay safe out there!Due to the snow storm, our program office will be closed today and our team working remotely. Stay safe out there!
Gearing up for the 2021 season, Cylo and Lancaster Barnstormers team coaches consider a little ReStore re-decoration of the players’ clubhouse! (They really have great taste.)
National Volunteer Week is less than two weeks away, but we're handing out the high fives to our beloved vols now! Be sure to keep an eye our social media outlets to take part in the virtual celebration that will take place April 18-24. Or better yet, sign up to volunteer with us that week and be a part of the on-site festivities! #LLHFHvols2021
Allow us to introduce you to our new Carpenter's Club... a giving group of Habitat supporters who make small, automatic donations to us monthly or quarterly throughout the year. Recurring donations are a huge help to our planning and budgeting efforts, so your Carpenter's Club membership is working all year long. To learn about the "how to," membership benefits and where to go with questions, please use this link. www.lancasterlebanonhabitat.org/carpenters-club
Some months back, we cheered on this hard-working student with big dreams. Giftie--a straight A student, Habitat family member and future neurosurgeon--continues to wow us. She was just honored with the Student of the Month award from the Rotary Club of Paradise. She's flourishing at home and in school, and we know she'll continue to do amazing things. Congratulations, Giftie... your dedication and attention to your studies is inspirational!
What kind of impact can you make through our Carpenter's Club? Your regular monthly or quarterly gifts to Habitat allows our team to more effectively make long range build plans, which means we can serve our families even better. Read more about member benefits and signup here. Every gift makes a difference! www.lancasterlebanonhabitat.org/carpenters-club
Tour de Habitat today with this amazing (and quite photogenic) team from LCBC Church! We’re grateful for the time they shared with us to learn more about our construction, ReStore and homeownership program activities. LCBC Church
