Hello all and blessings! Because of the cold weather forecast for tomorrow there will be two options for worship. Our normal outdoor worship will happen at 10am.... Prayer Walk - This Saturday at 9am. Join us as we walk through our city praying for the people who live, work, and play here as well as our government and the upcoming election process. Are You a Starter? Wondering what it might take to grow your ministry? Curious about your capacity to start a new ministry? Start-up leaders have unique gifts and perspectives on their work. That entrepreneurial or apostolic spirit is a valued role in ministry. Join Ben Ingebretson for 90 minutes that may open a door to a new chapter in your ministry. Tuesday, October 27 at 2 pm ET/ 1 pm CT... Via Zoom. The Emerging Ministries Committee is pleased to announce an online educational opportunity for people interested in learning more about starting a new ministry in the Moravian Church. It might be a new worshipping community or a new non-profit service ministry (such as Tricklebee Café). Our Director of Church Planting and Emerging Ministries, Ben Ingebretson, will lead this conversation entitled, Are You a Starter? It will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, October 27 at 2 pm ET/ 1 pm CT. This opportunity is open to all especially lay people who may have an interest in starting something new perhaps college-age individuals considering ministry, or early retirees who have energy to embark on a new project, plus everyone in between! Building a Culture of Anti-Racism Taught by Dr. Tim Berry Free Online Event October 26, 27, and 29... Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 7:00-9:30 PM EST 6:00 - 8:30 PM CST This seminar engages participants in a comprehensive approach to build anti-racist agendas within organizations. Theoretical, historical and contextual information informs the training in this training. Participants will learn the skills and language necessary to: Identify a comprehensive framework and praxis for leading cultural change Explore Cycles of socialization and liberation Understand Critical Race Theory Applications for Organizational and Systems Change Deepen personal practice and protocols for race conversations Examine action research methodologies which can be used to build a culture of anti-racism Dr. Timothy Berry is the Interim Dean of Urban Education at Metropolitan State University in the Twin Cities. He holds a Master of Music Education degree, with an emphasis in multicultural music from The University of Minnesota. Dr. Berry is an award-winning composer, and has edited and published interdisciplinary curriculum, and has recently published a book chapter on using critical race theory to undergird the preparation of new teachers. He maintains a research agenda including critical race theory, project-based learning, and music and the arts. This seminar is FREE thanks to the support of the Moravian Church Northern Province and Western District. It is open to all who are interested regardless of church affiliation. It is a discussion-based workshop; camera and audio are required. Registration will be capped at 100 people.
