Spring has sprung and we’re making progress on the exterior of this +230 year old farmhouse in Wayne, with @janiczekhomes. Soon, we’ll begin on the interior.

#tbt to a project I did with my #cornfedcornbred #iowegian brother, @curt_mark @curtmark59, for the Cleary family in Ann Arbor, MI, ca 2005-ish. All of the cabinetry was custom made by us. This was a fun project for one of my all time favorite clients.

Gotta love it when the homeowner buys #hoagies for the entire crew on a sunny, 72 day. @janiczekhomes has the best clients!

Fantastic news about an amazing and remarkable museum!

Sometimes, #impostersyndrome shuts up and I can relax and enjoy the work I’ve done. This project for a family of 6 in #pennvalley by Janiczek Homes is nearly complete and everyone is pleased with the results.

This is one of the most complex #customcabinetry projects I’ve ever done: custom bookshelves set into a wall in a custom, open staircase. Next step is to finish the shelving with paint and install the balusters. Happily, the worst of it is done. With Janiczek Homes

@araderdesign tagged me on a post from @finehomebuilding that brought back memories of my first project in The Philadelphia area, a fire restoration of a historically significant high modernist home in #RadnorPA. This handrail was a beast and required custom tooling to mill the parts and was a two piece construction, with multiple miters at odd angles, it took a week to install. The original had been almost entirely destroyed in the fire, with just enough remaining to copy for the milling blades. The rest was assembled from photographs that the client had saved and he was adamant that we restore his house to exactly as it was before the fire. He was quite pleased with the results!

We’ve completed this 2nd floor #remodel of this 120 year-old #gildedagemansion in #brynmawr, #PA with Janiczek Homes, with a pair of his and hers walk-in closets. Her closet, in beige and cream, is from a well-known custom cabinet manufacturer; when they couldn’t meet our production deadline, I stepped up and built his closet system, in bold blue, on site. We used #balticbirch plywood, instead of the more ubiquitous particleboard construction and #hardmaple facing. There is a...mple rack space for hanging suits and shirts, an an angled shoe rack that’s over 7 feet tall and two cabinets for storing folded clothes, one with a drawer and shelf combination, the other, with an integrated, tilt-out clothes hamper and a solid #walnutwood too. Remarkably, we built his closet in a little over a week, and well under the cost of the mass-produced custom quote.
