Friends of Landenberg Christian Academy

Landenberg Christian Academy has been in existence for 18 years, and the Lord has done amazing things in the lives of many students, families, and staff over these years. As you know, LCA is closing at the end of this school year. This year has been a very unique final year for us. We started the year as normal - welcoming our students and families back for another great year of learning and fun! In November, we made the difficult decision to close our school at the end of th...e year due to low enrollment and the hardships that placed on our budget year after year. As families and staff tried to grasp this reality, we committed to having the BEST last year ever! We looked forward to celebrating many lasts together. Then Covid-19 hit and our year together came to a screeching halt. While awesome learning has been taking place via distance learning, our families, students, and staff were not able to celebrate the many lasts we had been looking forward to doing together: our last Grandparents Day, field trips, class celebrations, spring program, graduations, etc. However, through it all we know and trust that God has a good plan for each and every one of us. We know that while our hearts are sad, we can rejoice knowing God is up to something good - something bigger and better than all we can ask or imagine. He is writing an amazingly beautiful story in our lives. We can’t see the ending, and we often can’t understand why things happen as they do....BUT we can trust the One who is writing the story. The Lord is writing a story for His glory and our good, and He calls us to trust Him. As we come to the close of our final school year at LCA, we thought the song The Blessing by Kari Jobe was the perfect message we want to leave our families with. No matter where our paths lead as we say goodbye to this year and to LCA, we can say our goodbye knowing that the Lord will be with us in our going. He will be with us as we walk into new schools, new jobs, and make new friends. Thank you to everyone who made our last year at LCA so special.
