We are so grateful to everyone who joined us yesterday for a thoughtful discussion about the role of art during times of crisis. Thank you to Dr. Rosemary Barbera for inviting me to zoom into her SWK 160: Introduction to Social Work class today to talk about social policy and works of art. We talked about everything from unemployment to food access to the impacts of COVID. Yay! We do such fun things with our collection! So proud of our La Salle community for their engagement around recreating works of art from our museum. Would you like to recreate a work? If so, visit artcollection.lasalle.edu and find one that you like. Recreate it using objects from your home and then email me the images at [email protected] and I may feature you on our social media! https://www.lasalle.edu//2/10/14/home-is-where-the-art-is/

Recently had a lot of fun discussing this painting with the La Salle University Honors Program students. They learned that the average museum visitor spends 30 seconds looking at a work of art. We spent about 20 minutes engaging with this "sacred conversation" using prompting questions!
