The Maennerchor Plaza A private enterprise For Profit; Connecting a great past with a bright feature. We originally purchased the property for the parking lot so that a potential tenant of the Labor Temple building across the street may use it. But now, we are forced to change our original plans for the property as that potential tenant (Software Company) is no longer moving into the building. So now we are closing Latinos and selling some other properties we have in town ...to focus on this project. Our experiment at Latinos has been successful: We single handedly cleaned Parade St around our restaurant. We operated for almost 23 years as a landmark on the East side and served people from all over the world. Quite a few locals crossed the border to patronize our business as we became friends with some great local people. We were consistently the number one restaurant in the region. So, we want to thank every one of our clients in the last 22 years as we will close Latinos with wonderful memories. Business model for the Maennerchor Plaza: 1. Tianguis, kind of a Mercado or Bazar, using Food Trucks, Street Food and Street Performers in the parking lot during the summer months. No carnivals, just local people. 2. Cocina del Mundo not Americanized. Independent small kitchens and independent business with chefs and cooks offering quality and authentic culinary experiences from around the world. 3. Banquets and events We plan to bring the Ball Room to its former glory. Once the venue is restored, it will be used for private events, Mariachi bands competitions and independent movies and plays produced and created by local artists. As well as small theater and musical traveling companies 4. We will lease some space for any microbrewery, winery or distillery that want to operate in our location. 5. The Bowling Alley if we get a good tenant that wants to operate the league there when the times comes. We will keep it operational otherwise we will just get rid of it. 6. The Courtyard and the Wall. Our courtyard will be something had never seen around this region before. Our perimeter Wall will be made of mosaics, kind of murals, depicting the outstanding contributions made by every single immigrant group to this region. Our business plan final objective is to create the best and most beautiful facility in the region where everybody will get a chance to know about the region history, its former glory, its current decay and its possible revival. We hope that after our repairs the building will be there for the next 100 years or longer. We know is just a dream that might take years to complete because our current lines of credit and family savings and liquidity.
