To our Latshmere family & friends, As we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure the safety of our Latshmere employees and members, the management team has decided to not open the swimming pool for the 2020 season. This decision was difficult to make and was not made lightly. Currently, pools are still not permitted to open under the yellow phase of Governor Wolf’s stay at home order, and we do not know when the green phase will be upon us. Also, the CDC has... put forth very stringent safety guidelines for the reopening of public pools, posting of signs, roping off sections in seating areas, maintaining social distancing both in and out of the pool and disinfecting of commonly shared equipment to name a few, please visit the CDC website for further details on safety guidelines. Pennsylvania has its own set of guidelines that we must adhere to even as we approach the green phase, such as: wearing of face masks out of the pool along with the limit of 25 persons, including staff. This places a huge burden on both staff and our patrons. All these guidelines and regulations puts more onus on our lifeguards and takes away from their primary responsibilities and that is to protect and insure the safety of our members. Therefore, we were left with little choice but to keep the pool closed for this season. We would like to thank you for patronage to our community pool. As warmer weather approaches we here at Latshmere are just as anxious to get outside and into the pool as our members are, however keeping not only our members but everyone in our community safe is our first priority. As long as Dauphin County remains in the Red we will continue to follow Governor Wolf and the CDC mandate to remain closed. We have discussed the issue of opening the pool at length and we continue to monitor the situation but until the time comes that we are given the green light to resume business we cannot make the decision on whether or not Latshmere will open this summer. Our expectation is to open but we are not setting the time line. For now we hope that all of our members, family and friends are safe and well through these difficult times. We will update as new information becomes available.

We are receiving many inquiries on the status of Latshmere opening this summer due to Covid-19. Unfortunately with this being a very fluid situation with no real definitive answers on how bad it is going to impact everyone or the medical community we cannot answer that question at this time. We are continuing to monitor the situation and as more information comes out we will make a decision at that time as to if or when we open with the safety of all our members being our top priority. Dear Latshmere Members: We recently received notification from Susquehanna Township regarding parking on the grassy area in front of the pool because of a recent complaint filed with the Township. At this time, we ask that you refrain from parking in the area directly in front of the pool and use the surrounding street parking when visiting the pool. Are you and your family hot in this heat wave we are having? Well we have the cure. Come on over to Latshmere Pool and spend a lazy afternoon cooling off in our pool. We open at noon.

Looks like it is going to be a beautiful opening day for Latshmere Pool. Come out and enjoy the day poolside.

Our Solar Panels love these hot, sunny days. They are working hard to warm the pool water for our members so you can enjoy the pool on opening day this Saturday. Hope to see all of you this weekend.
