Congratulations to our two December graduates! Melody Griffith graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, and Jesse Graham graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Worship Arts. Although today is not the graduation they had planned, we still want to celebrate these two incredible students. Congratulations Melody and Jesse! We cannot wait to see where the Lord takes you both!

We hope you were able to join us this past weekend for our Christmas concert A Light to the World. If you missed it, it will be streaming again on Christmas Eve at lbc.edu/events! We have to give huge shout outs not only to our own students, but to those in the Communication & Media Arts Department that made this production possible! The work they put in to creating a phenominal concert in the midst of a pandemic is incredible, and we could not be more proud. These students also put together a special tribute to Beethoven on his 250th birthday, so we hope you enjoy it!

Registrations for department auditions are now open! All students who want to study in the MWPA must complete a department audition following their acceptance to LBC. Students can chose between a virtual audition, which requires YouTube video submissions and a Zoom interview with a faculty panel, or an in-person audition on the campus of LBC. Our in-person audition days, or Scholarship Audition Days, give students the opportunity to receive departmental scholarship awards! T...hese days are packed full of activities beyond the auditions themselves. Students get the opportunity to sit in on classes, ensembles, and participate in a Q & A panel with our faculty; a few Scholarship Audition Days also provide opportunities to see student recitals, concerts, and musical theatre productions as well! Head to the link in our bio or lbc.edu/music for more information!

Our applied trumpet instructor, Dr. Kenneth Laudermilch, has just released a brand new book called "Designed, No Less." This book tells the story of Dr. and Mrs. Laudermilch as they raised their special-needs son Keith on what would turn out to be a "marvelous journey." If you want to experience a powerful firsthand account of God's providence, grace, and love in the most unlikely of circumstances be sure to grab a copy of Dr. Laudermilch's book to enjoy over break!

Although we miss seeing our students face-to-face on campus, we are so grateful for the time we were able to spend with them this semester! Many colleges did not have the privileges we did of in-person classes and performances, and we are so proud of all of the work our students put in these few months. While it was not an ideal semester for performing arts students, they took the challenges in stride and produced some of the best work we have ever seen. We pray this week wil...l be one of refreshment for them as we enter into the last two weeks of online learning, and we hope you will keep them in your prayers as well. If you would like to see the culmination of their efforts, stay tuned for our Christmas concert streaming the weekend of December 11-13 and on December 24 at lbc.edu/events. Congratulations to all of our students on a semester well-done, and we cannot wait to see you all again in January! See more
