If you've called or been to the Racquets Pro Shop lately, you may have noticed a new voice and face. Welcome Janessa Meyers, our new Racquets Pro Shop Manager! Janessa was born and raised in Lancaster County. She graduated from Manheim Central High School in 2012. After high school, Janessa attended a one-year bible school in Montana. She loved it so much in Montana that she ended up living in there for four years. In 2017, Janessa moved back to the Lancaster area. In 2020, s...he made the decision to pursue her medical assistant certification through Harrisburg Area Community College. Before joining us, Janessa was a receptionist at Lancaster Toyota Service Center. She is now the Racquets Pro Shop Manager and loves getting to know the members and working with such a fantastic team! In her spare time Janessa enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking, riding bike, and crafting. See more

A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Rosen College of Hospitality Management, Elizabeth Belknap has been at the forefront of the hospitality and tourism industry for 15 years. She has held management positions in sales and marketing, special events, and operations in Miami and Orlando, Florida, including several Marriott hotel properties. Elizabeth's attention to detail and commitment to excellent service encompassed the corporate, convention, and local Orlando ma...rket. Her leadership role at one of Orlando’s key convention and entertainment complexes brought great success to the annual Taste Of Pointe Orlando event. She attended high school in Downingtown, PA and currently resides in Christiana, PA. Elizabeth loves yoga and all things health and fitness, and is also a certified personal trainer. She has eagerly continued on her journey of expanding her public speaking skills through Toastmasters International and served as club President of an Orlando chapter. Elizabeth is available to help with all of your private event needs. Please give her a warm welcome when you see her around the club!

During last week’s construction progress, the new practice putting green was completed, stucco application continued on the exterior of the Activities Pavilion as well as drywall installation for the Ladies Locker Room. #lccadefiningmoment

Always inching closer to completion, our A Defining Moment project had a big week! Trim and carpet installation was completed in the Golf Shop, tile work began in the Activities Pavilion changing rooms, refinishing of the bar began in the 19th Hole and progress continued on the new and improved practice green. #lccadefiningmoment

NEW! Looking for an easy-to-prepare dinner at home? Our LCC at Home Meal Kits are the answer! Each kit comes with pre-measured and prepped ingredients with instructions written by our Chef, so you can enjoy cooking LCC favorites in your own home. Each kit serves two people and options will change weekly. First up, an LCC favorite, Chicken Picatta and Shrimp Tortellini Rosé available today through Saturday!

Friday was our first Dinks & Drinks event! We had an awesome turnout for a night of pickleball games and drills and of course a few delicious beverages as well!

Big things are happening with our expansion project! Last week, walls began to take shape at the Activities Pavilion, excavation began on the new pool, stone was installed on the exterior of the Paddle Hut and the perimeter of the new putting green was determined.

We broke ground yesterday on our major in-house course project this winter of giving the range a major facelift. New targets, along with the addition of bunkers and a fairway, will not only provide aesthetics, but practice sessions can now mimic the on-course experience. In addition, @MottinGolf will install a new artificial tee mat system, practice fairway bunker to the right of the tees and regrade/resurface the forward tee while also creating some additional hitting space. -Josh Saunders, Director of Golf Course Operations #bigthingsarehappening

Skipping the dishes with LCC’s quarantine cuisine! LCC curbside carry-out, catering and marketplace were new options this year that allowed our members to continue enjoying a taste of their club favorites safely at home. The member response has been fantastic, and we look forward to continuing curbside services until it is safe to dine together again. At the Paddle Hut, drywall, windows and trim were installed. Foundations continued to go up for the Activities Pavilion and progress was made on the new parking lot.

Whatever the celebration or occasion, a great wine makes a phenomenal addition. At the end of 2019 and throughout 2020, we had some great additions to the LCC wine program. I have had the opportunity to welcome brand ambassadors and wine enthusiasts to the club to grow our selection. I would like to highlight some selections that will pair with any celebration this holiday season. Prior to the COVID -19 shutdown of most, if not all, liquor and wine distributors, I was able t...o welcome for a brisk tasting the proprietor of Gamble Family Winery, Mr. Tom Gamble. Relatively new to the wine world, with Gamble’s first vintage being in 2005, they have produced some phenomenal Napa Valley wines. I am thrilled to be able to have their Loire style Sauvignon Blanc, the James Suckling 93pt rated Cabernet Sauvignon and their Paramount red blend part of our wine program. Traditionally, a classic celebratory beverage is and forever will be champagne, a personal favorite of mine. Let’s celebrate the end of a trying year as well as a new chapter for LCC with the A Defining Moment project by sharing a glass of bubbly. We are continuing to grow our selection of sparkling wines, and this holiday season in the Flynn Grille, we will have an expanded menu of bubbly. A notable addition, crafted in the méthode champenois tradition Dosaged with French oak barrel fermented Napa Valley Chardonnay is a sparkling from Duckhorn Vineyards. This California Cuvee will be available by the glass or bottle all holiday season in the Flynn Bar and Grille. What an exciting week! The first walls of the Activities Pavilion went up, insulation of the Paddle Hut was completed and inspected in preparation for drywall installation, and the ceiling of the new caddie shack was installed.

By now most of us have heard of pickleball. We probably associate it with retirement communities in Florida, or maybe a grandparent that plays at their local rec center. It is undeniable that pickleball is huge with the 60+ crowd. However, those under 60 account for pickleball’s primary growth across the country in the last 5-10 years. Younger folks are learning pickle and loving it. Here’s why: First, pickleball has a low barrier to entry. Jarrett Chirico, founder of clay co...urt pickleball and Director of Racquets at the Baltimore Country Club, puts it this way, the amount of people who can play tennis can be measured by a yardstick, and the amount of people who can play pickleball can be measured by a football field." In other words, anyone can play pickleball regardless of age, skill, or experience. Secondly, pickleball is social. Men and women can play together in any combination while playing competitively. Last but not least, pickleball is a great form of exercise. The small court promotes fast play, so players are constantly moving for the duration of the game. All in all, pickleball is a must try for everyone. LCC’s pickleball program has been growing exponentially and offers a pickleball roundrobin every Saturday 9:00-10:30 a.m. for all skill levels age 18+. This week the 2021-2022 Platinum Clubs of America’s rankings were released nationally. We are proud to announce that LCC has risen in the rankings for the third straight time to #33 nationally in the country club category! Voting is conducted of peer clubs nationwide by General Managers and ClubPresidents in a variety of categories including golf, racquets, athletics, food & beverage, club leadership and facilities. LCC Pro, Matt Goudie, demonstrates the correct way to fix a ball mark during Golf 101: push in from the sides, don’t pull up using a ball mark repair tool. This helps protect the health and beauty of the course.

Our dedicated Racquets Professionals starting off another beautiful morning at LCC. A big round of applause for our Racquets team lead by Michael Jordan with Jody Sambrick Jr. and Derek Hagino for making the summer of 2020 the most successful summer in the history of LCC's racquets program. We're excited to keep expanding!
