Lawrence County employees will be conducting a housing study in the outlined portion of Union Township from April 5 to April 16. All work, including the taking... of photographs, will be conducted from the street. In no event will county employees ask to enter residential structures or otherwise intrude onto private property. County employees will be wearing badges to distinguish themselves.
The PA Chapter of the American Planning Association is seeking the nomination of Great Public Spaces, Greenways/Trails, & Streets for it's Great Places in PA program. If you know a special public space, greenway/trail, or street that displays a wealth of best practices in community planning and serves as a model for other communities, NOMINIATE IT!!!! The deadline for nomination is May 7, 2021!
There is still funding available to support Lawrence County hotels, restaurants, bars, and other businesses in the hospitality industry facing hardship due to COVID-19. Business owners are encouraged to apply for Lawrence County's CHIRP grant program at www.lawrencecounty.com.
The Lawrence County COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program (CHIRP) grant application will go live on March 15, 2021 at 9:00am. The application itself is currently viewable at www.lawrencecounty.com so that business owners in the hospitality industry know exactly what documents they need to prepare to apply for the grant.

Final notice is given that a public meeting to review the draft 2020 Lawrence County Hazard Mitigation Plan will be conducted on October 21, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at the Lawrence County Department of Public Safety, located at 1451 County Line Road, New Castle, PA 16101. Public participation in the hazard mitigation plan update process is very important. This meeting will review the sections of the draft 2020 Lawrence County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update and identify a procedure for the public to provide comments on the draft plan.
Lawrence County is officially announcing our COVID-19 Emergency Business Grant Program! The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners are deploying $360,000.00 in emergency grant funding for qualifying businesses which must close their operations as a result of Governor Wolf’s December 10th COVID-19 mitigation order. Qualifying businesses are eligible for a one-time $3,000.00 emergency grant to help them get through the next few weeks.... Qualifying businesses include: Locally Owned Dine-in Restaurants Bars Gyms Movie Theaters Bowling Alleys The application period for emergency funding will start at 1:30pm on Friday, December 11, 2020 and run through 11:59pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners and Court Administration are further restricting public access to County operated facilities and are curtailing County operations through December.
