The Pandemic has been an unprecedented experience for most of us. It has been at a time of disruption and hope, loss and possibility, grief and new beginnings. The Corona Quilt is a project that creates a tangible expression of our pandemic experiences and our hopes for the future, linking us in healing, inspiration, belonging and action. It is made up of squares created by people like you and me, from around the world, courageously giving voice to our experience. So many of... us, and our coaching clients, have talked about wanting a different world from the pre-Covid-19 world, and this project captures those hopes. We invite you to join your voice with others from around the world by creating your own square today. You can participate in many ways and do not have to know how to sew or do crafts!

Unresolved #trauma can keep #coaching clients stuck in detrimental patterns. Trauma responses pull clients away from their center where they operate from an unbalanced perspective, revealing patterns of perfectionism, addictions, procrastination, inability to accomplish goals, self-sabotage and attachment to negative emotions. Many coaches are rightly concerned about working with clients who have experienced trauma. How can you help clients with a trauma-informed approach w...hile respecting the professional boundaries between coaching and trauma therapy? Grounded Leadership: Transforming Trauma is an advanced course which helps you identify those boundaries, giving you tools and practices to assist clients who have experienced trauma while practicing within a clear coaching context. You will draw from the combined expertise of an experienced professional coach with the rigorous research and experience of a licensed therapist throughout the program. Program begins Tuesday, May 19 Link in bio #leadershipthatworks #trauma #traumainformedcoaching

Below are some incredible resources focused on racial equity and justice in the face of Covid-19. These innovative and thoughtful conversations provide much nee...ded analysis, information, and healing tools that center the ways in which people of color, people of the global majority, bodies of culture (thank you, Resmaa Menakem) and Black and Brown folks are targeted for increased marginalization, exploitation, and even death from Covid-19. Covid-19 is a deadly virus that does not discriminate. However, the impact of this disease has opened a door to awakening for many people to the diseases of structural racism, classism, and anti-immigrant policies and practices that impact every sector. For those who have been conscious of the virulent nature of these intersecting systems, these resources will deepen your analysis, expand your skills, and support our collective healing. Our Pre-Covid systems and structures value silence and acceptance of intersectional injustice in every sector. The old ways or "normal" value productivity over humanity and unconscious strategy over culture. The old "normal" treats bodies as commodities that had less value if they were too ill, to disabled, too hungry, too poor, or too black, and values whiteness as supreme. We now have a great opportunity to dream of and embody new ways of being that will require revolutionary acts. Rest is a revolutionary act. Using your voice in the face of injustice is a revolutionary act. Slowing down to breath is a revolutionary act. Practicing by starting where you are is a revolutionary act. Centering love and radical hope over fear is a revolutionary act. If you want to join an equity revolution that lives beyond this moment, join these important conversations to start a new practice of hope, love, and liberation. 1. Covid 19 and Racial Embodiment Webinar- This Saturday, May 9th, we invite you to join me and the Education for Racial Equity Team for part 2 of a series of candid conversations with authors and thought leaders Resmaa Menakem, author of "My Grandmother's Hands" and Dr. Robin DiAngelo, author of "White Fragility." In this dialogue, Resmaa & Robin will identify how whiteness circulates in the pandemic, how racism intensifies the stress for people of culture, how that toxic stress is embodied, and what we can do individually and communally. If you’re looking to build your capacity to unpack these complex discussions and have an opportunity to engage with Resmaa and Robin in a Q&A, we hope you’ll sit in with us on this two-part discussion. I will be moderating this important talk, and I hope you can join us! This event is also a fundraiser for organizations led by people of color and providing the most urgent relief resources for communities of color. We also have a pay-what-you can or free access for those who may be experiencing income insecurity (Contact me directly for the access to these options) Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/education-for-racial-equity-18 2. Kimberle Crenshaw and the African American Policy Forum Produce: Under the Blacklight: The Intersectional Failures that COVID Lays Bare - Webinar, Youtube, and Intersectionality Matters Podcast This is a great webinar series hosted by Kimberle Crenshaw and the African American Policy Forum. You can sign up for today's webinar here. You can also listen to the previous episodes on the Intersectionality Matters Podcast or watch the previous webinars on youtube. Info on Tonight's Episode The past several weeks have prompted unprecedented levels of turmoil and unpredictability due to rising alarm over COVID-19. While American society has taken precautionary measures to counter the spread of the virus, those most vulnerable to societal neglect remain most impacted. Coronavirus did not create the stark social, financial, and political inequalities that define life for so many Americans, but it has made them more strikingly visible than any moment in recent history. Unfortunately, some of the intersectional dimensions of these structural disparities remain undetected and unreported. As we witness this unprecedented moment, some of us from home and some of us from the front lines, we want to take the opportunity to gather together and share a piece of what we’re each seeing and experiencing. Join us on May 6th at 8:00 p.m. EST (5:00 p.m. PST) as thought leaders around the country discuss the current crisis, explore how we can move forward together to protect and uplift the most vulnerable among us, and imagine the world we hope to see emerge on the other side. 3. "Something's Inside" hosted by Author and Coach, Hilary Beard - TONIGHT! Are you or someone you know furloughed or unemployed? Or are you a gig worker, contractor, freelancer or small business person who wants to know how the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act stimulus package impacts you? Are you interested in better understanding how the CARES Act stimulus packages impact Black and Brown people so that, once again, we don't get left behind? If so, please join Hilary, Camara Jones, MD, MPH, PhD, and Phill Wilson for Something Inside, a conversation on Facebook live, each Wednesday at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central/5pm Pacific. https://www.facebook.com/hilarybeardauthor
