Here at #LeadtheWay, we know that canine companionship is amazing and has so many benefits! But not everyone is in a position to be paw-rents. This is our girl Zena, she is a Lead the Way foster through It's A Ruff Life Rescue. She needed some extra special help to overcome her before life. Did you know that a foster animal is completely funded by the shelter or rescue? Your only job is to love them and help them be ready for their forever family to find them! Family wi...ns, rescue wins, and the dogs thrive! Foster dogs are great for people who aren’t ready for the 10-15 year commitment of a dog. They also make great companions for your current pups. Fostering is so important because it helps reduce overcrowding in shelters and opens up space for another animal to be saved. If you are interested in fostering, we can help!

Happy #SuccessSaturday! Meet Bailey! Bailey joined #LeadtheWay through our Top Paw Program to learn some manners on the leash. Bailey was a puller and made it very difficult for his family to walk him. At Lead the Way, we taught Bailey how to walk with manners and confidence. His wonderful paw-rents continued his training at home. Now, his mom can walk Bailey with ease! ... Spring has sprung and the great outdoors are where it's at! After spending some time with our #LeadtheWay trainers, Doug became the perfect pup! He even brings his mom flowers! Our training programs can help you achieve your perfect puppy experience!

This is certainly an exciting moment to celebrate for the humans, but will be a bit confusing for the furry members of the pack. Today for #SeparationAnxietySunday, Rosie shows us how e...asy it is to contribute to Lola's #separationanxiety. Our team would consider this a great example of what NOT to do when you leave! Your exit and enter routines, the words you use, the tone of your voice, and how you act have a great influence over how your feels when you're not there. We're helping a lot of families, particularly with new dogs brought home over the past year, prepare and overcome separation anxiety and improve manners to be out in public and around other people and in new places. Happy #FosterFriday! This is Cherry. Cherry originally came to #LeadtheWay as a puppy to become a service dog for a member of our community. Unfortunately, as she started to grow up, she had unexpected health issues that make her unable to be the service dog her family needs. Cherry continued to work on her manners and skills as a Lead the Way foster dog while we started looking for her fur-ever home. Cherry's health issues did not stop her one bit! She is a huge par...t of our pack. Cherry helped us rehabilitate scared dogs and helped them to come out of their shell. That is how she met Penny. She and Penny became best friends while Penny was staying with us for training. Luckily for Cherry, Penny's family fell in love with her too. After 7 months as a resident pup here, Cherry has been adopted by Penny's family and is now getting used to her new name - Izzy. Sometimes dreams shift and medical challenges emerge. Happy #TrainingTipTuesday! Waffles was so happy to be a big brother but when his sister started crawling he was on high alert and then she started WALKING!! Waffles was already a nervous boy but this change really scared him. ... His amazing family reached out to #LeadtheWay and we got to work. We showed Waffles how to make better choices that keep him and his sister safe. Now Nora and Waffles are the best of friends and the whole family can spend time together! Bella’s forever family had another special girl in their life - Izzy. ... Pack expansion can be tricky and we wanted to make sure these girls bonded so they could enjoy the wonderful life their humans were excited to share with them. The winning combination for Bella and Izzy included muzzles, gates and special protocols from our team. These girls successfully joined each other’s lives and now they live happily ever after and their mom is so pleased with them both!
