The Pennsylvania State Police announces today that Governor Tom Wolf has granted an extension to license to carry firearms permits. Permits which expired on March 19, 2020 or later have been extended to July 31, 2020. The extension is necessary due to the closure of some county courthouses and sheriff’s offices, as well as other protective measures being taken to limit the spread of COVID-19. ALTHOUGH GOVERNOR WOLF HAS PROVIDED THIS EXTENSION FOR LTCF PERMIT HOLDERS, THE LEHIGH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WILL CONTINUE TO PROCESS NEW APPLICATIONS AND RENEWALS VIA MAIL.

Thank you to Sam Adams Brewery for donating masks to our Deputies here at the Sheriff's Ofice. Also a big thank you to Erica Burch. Erica is a board member of the Schuylkill Valley Community Library. She and her husband make these mask straps with the library 3D printer and the library donates all the material. These will be a big help! Thank you for the donations!

On February 27, 2020 our "little Sheriff" Kaleb Holder was laid to rest clad in his Lehigh County Sheriff's uniform. Sheriff Hanna along with members of the Lehigh County Sheriff's Office, Pennsylvania State Police and Allentown and South Whitehall Police Departments served as pallbears. Present to honor his memory was Northampton County Sheriff's Office, 13 police and fire departments from Lehigh and Northampton Counties. Farewell "Sheriff" Kaleb.

It is with a heavy heart that Sheriff Hanna and the entire staff of the Lehigh County Sheriff's Office share with everyone the sad news that at 0700 hours this morning our "Little Sheriff" Kaleb Holder lost his battle with Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). Kaleb was surrounded by his mother Janelle, family and friends. Kaleb and his family served as an inspiration to all of us here at the Lehigh County Sheriff's Office. May God rest his Soul, and may his memory be eternal. For more information visit http://www.stopald.org/
