Here are some action shots from today’s confined space training.

The LCSO Rescue Academy is currently finishing up the practical portion of their confined space rescue certification.

The Academy is currently in the practical part of their Rope Rescue Certification. This weekend, they will be learning how to repel in a high angle rescue situation.

We would like to announce the start of the first ever Lehigh County Special Operations Rescue Academy, Class 001. The academy started this week with water rescue training, and will be continuing until the middle of November. The academy includes the following trainings: Water Rescue, Rope Rescue, Trench Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, and Structual Collapse Rescue certifications. The unique part about this Academy is that it is only taught by current LCSO members, who are Stat...e Fire Academy certified instructors. Furthermore, it is taught solely with/on our equipment. We feel this gives all of our new members the best experience when it comes to training. Thirteen of the team members in the academy are from our recent 2020 recruitment class. LCSO personal reviewed Radiological emergencies this evening, and performed a full scale drill to end the night.

LCSO has been busy over the past two weeks. Including: A hazmat incident in Easton, PA, An explosion in Lower Milford, and multiple drone team call outs. Thank you to our teams for all your hard work and dedication!

LCSO Team Members are currently doing a virtual training on hazardous materials this evening. We find it very important to stay sharp on our skills during this pandemic.

With the current COVID-19 pandemic. LCSO would like to remind those who are making cleaning products at home to be very careful when mixing chemicals. Please be safe.

The team spent the evening training on sampling unknown products, and determining the hazard classification. If you’re interested in joining the team. Applications are being accepted until this Friday! Please see our previous posts for more information.
