Lehigh County Election Board To Approve Drop Box Procedures Before Field Distribution Lehigh County, PA- On Thursday, October 15th, 2020, the Lehigh County Election Board will vote to approve the current drop box preparations and distribution protocol. The boxes will be available to Lehigh County residents once this vote has been approved by the Election Board. Five drop boxes will be available in each Lehigh County district, including the Lehigh County Government Center. Pre...parations are currently in place to have the boxes available to accept completed ballots at the five Lehigh County municipality locations by Friday, October 16th, with the Lehigh County Sheriff Department set for courier pick-up starting Monday, October 19th. Lehigh County sheriff deputies will be undergoing training this week to ensure all drop boxes and ballots will be handled properly. The safe and secure Government Center Lobby ballot box is currently available for 24 hour, seven days per week for ballot drop off. Please be advised that citizens are currently able to mail in their ballot through the U.S. Postal Service or by handing their ballot in directly to the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office. Voters are encouraged to follow through with these two methods if they are unable to wait for a Lehigh County drop box. Over The Counter Ballots To Be Available From The Office Of Voter Registration Mail-In Ballots to be sent out through the mail starting Tuesday, Oct. 6th Lehigh County, PA- Voters who have not applied for a mail-in ballot can pick up an over-the-counter ballot at the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office starting Friday, October 2. The ballots will be available in Conference Room 40 where voters can fill out an application, have it processed, and be counted on site startin...g November 3 . Additionally, voting booths will be available in the hallway for voters. Mail-In ballots will begin to be sent out through the mail Tuesday, October 6th, to all applicants who previously applied. Over 65,000 ballots are set to be mailed out in Lehigh County.
Mail-In Ballot Drop Boxes To Be Available In All Lehigh County Commissioner Districts Lehigh County residents now have access to five drop boxes for their mail-in ballots. Allentown, PA- Drop boxes for mail-in ballots will be available for residents at five select municipal buildings in Lehigh County. Last Thursday, September 17th, 2020, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ruled that drop boxes will be allowed for the upcoming 2020 General Election. As a result, the Lehigh Coun...ty Election Board finalized that five boxes will be available at the following locations. Ballots can be dropped off at these locations instead of by mail or by handing them to a Voter Registration Office employee. Each drop box location will be monitored via electronic surveillance and by the presence of a municipal worker. All ballots must be enclosed in the security mailing envelope before being sealed in the mailing envelope. Any ballots that fail to do this will not be counted.
