Snow emergency is in effect until further notice. All vehicles must be removed from designated routes. Failure to comply can result in fines and the towing of the vehicle at the owners expense. Map of routes can be found below:

Effective Monday, November 23, 2020, All Borough Buildings will be closed to the public until further notice. We will be functioning with limited staffing and operations and we will continue to monitor and re-evaluate our operations as needed. The following are some steps the Borough has put in place: *Essential services such as Police, Fire, Electric and Public Works will remain operational *The Municipal Building is closed to the public with the exception of necessary appoi...ntments. Administration can be reached at 610-377-4002 and the Utility Office can be reached at 610-377-4004. Masks are required to enter the building for appointments *All customers are encouraged to pay their utility bill by: *Mail (No Cash Payments) *Utility Drop Box on North Street side of the Building (No Cash Payments) *Online by E-Check: https://wipp.edmundsassoc.com/WippLEHG *The Borough will reimburse $1.05 for paying via E-Check Only Public Meetings required by law will be held. The water crew is currently working on a water main break by Pizza Hut. There was an automated call sent out to the customers that are affected by the break (Larch St., Pine St., Spruce St., Mahoning Mtn. Rd., a section of East Penn St. to Snyder Tire and Pizza Hut), a boil advisory is in effect for those areas until further notice. We will have another automated call sent out when the advisory has been lifted. Sorry for any inconvenience.

NOTICE HYDRANT FLUSHING Beginning on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 fire hydrants will be flushed in the service area of the Lehighton Water Authorityin Lehighton, Weissport and portions of Mahoning and Franklin Townships. Flushing will be done beginning at 8:00 A.M. and continue until around 3:00 P.M. each day until all hydrants are flushed. Hydrants will not be flushed on Monday’s.... Water may be discolored for a short time. This discoloration is not harmful. It is suggested that at this time, you set aside water at night for drinking the next day. Hydrant flushing is part of our normal operations, in order to keep the system clean for use by our customers.
