When this family moved from England in the midst of Covid, I had to be creative in the organization of remodeling this kitchen. The homeowners were terrific and all the fab contractors who worked on this kitchen worked in waves and were meticulous. Worked with Grothouse to create these walnut floating shelves integrated with LED lighting ... and also had this End Grain Walnut butcher block made, mixed of heartwood and sapwood surface (2-1/2 thick and is ideal for food pre...p.) (PSA: Taking cabinets out doesn’t mean less storage, it means getting rid of your shot glasses from 1987 and your 300 coffee mugs. On the sink side, you only need dishes and glasses.) The stairs in this latest project needed its own post. As you see in the pics I went to @jcwoodworkingpa and picked out the perfect 4x4 white pine wood while @142iron did an amazing job hand forging the iron that I imagined in the space. We love designing as much as we love staging. This bathroom had a 30-year-old steam shower that didn’t work and a huge tub that no one used. We wanted every square inch to be usable... from shelving, to a place for laundry and even a little area next to the toilet carved out for toilet paper. @awmcarpentry LLC did the fab shelves for me. @tilearmy did the impeccable tile. @creativetileimports had the best service. When staging homes, if the paint is in good condition, I’ll work with it. Many realtors insist it should get painted. Well, painted, of course, gray. We try to save the homeowners money by playing up the color. We bring in the right stuff, so you don’t have to paint it gray. BUT, only if it’s in good condition. ... In the second picture, there is wallpaper from the 90’s. We took that and made it look like it was freshly done. Materials for our next remodel... In 1937, a man named Alfred Moen invented a single-handed faucet that blended cold and hot water before it exited the fixture. He came up with the idea after burning his hands with a two handle convectional faucet, one for cold and one for hot... here is the exact replica. And then we have the trough sink... invented for communal bath spaces, stadiums, etc gave way to (or the origin of) the first apron-front or farmsinks of today. A little... history for ya ... It seems like a lot of green, but it’s not:). Just a few walls... but def made an impact. We love this color. We redesigned the Lehigh County Controller’s office Mark Pinsley. We put the file cabinets in a more useful place and created a coffee/tea bar.... We had the extra papers, folders, etc. filed away in the right places & made a conference room enjoyable to be in. (The other 2 walls are a warm white.) We put in comfy chairs and added soft lighting. He and his staff will be there for 4 years, it should be a nice place to be in daily. This family is selling their home and the daughters left for college, so the basement was empty. We staged a game room and tv gathering room within a few hours and voila, buyers can imagine their families being entertained downstairs.
