The Eagles season mercifully came to end Sunday night as the Eagles lost to the Washington Football Team in a game that caused a lot of controversy considering the two teams involved ended their seasons with losing records. While the Giants were hoping for an Eagles win, the Eagles had many of their best players inactive and took Quarterback Jalen Hurts out of the game in the fourth quarter. A variety of commentators, including Giants (and some Eagles) players, voiced their d...ispleasure that the team had sullied the integrity of the game. But the Eagles had taken a broad look at how to approach the game and decided the long term benefits of the sixth overall pick and elimination of the risk of injury to their best players were worth the cost. Attorneys and their clients need to have a big picture view as well. Not every issue should be handled the same. An experienced attorney can advise when to push and when to maybe take that step back in favor of the long game. See more

The Eagles fell to the bottom of the worst division in football after their loss to the Cardinals this past Sunday. In his first game back after quarantining for Covid-19, Larry Fitzgerald, Jr. helped the Cardinals win by making a highlight reel catch, reaching around Eagles Cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman. After the touchdown celebration, the announcers informed the audience that Mr. Fitzgerald spent his quarantine updating his estate plan which, in our opinion, was a prett...y smart way to use some extra down time. Maybe having his plan updated to reflect his current financial and life situation gave Mr. Fitzgerald the confidence he needed to help his team defeat the Eagles (who, with Jalen Hurts under center, have finally started to show some spark despite this week’s loss). Even if you are not regularly playing professional football, having an updated estate plan can help you feel confident that, if and when the worst should come, your loved ones will know how you want to be taken care of and how you want your assets managed. If you need to update your plan, call Leonard Sciolla today! See more

The NFL cliché the game is won in the trenches was on full display Sunday afternoon as the Packers beat the Eagles 30-16. The Packers sacked Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts seven times including a sack of Hurts with about 3 minutes left that effectively ended the game. The O-line is the foundation of any team’s offense. Without a capable offensive line, the quarterback cannot effectively throw the ball and the running backs are mired in the backfield. Businesses need a solid ...foundation as well. That foundation goes beyond the business plan. Setting up the right type of entity, agreeing to the right set rules in by-laws or operating agreement, and insuring your business, among myriad other decisions, are all necessary to create that foundation for your business. The business attorneys at Leonard Sciolla can work with you to create a solid foundation and start your company on the right footing. See more

Rather than spend our energy writing something about the Eagles this week, let’s look ahead to brighter times. The NBA preseason opens on December 11 with the Sixers playing their first game against the Celtics in just two weeks. The NHL is targeting January 1 to open its season. And the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas has announced that jury trials will resume January 21!
