Happy Friday! Please read to the end! You may or may not be aware of the struggles that agriculture is facing during the covid19 quarantine.... Milk is being dumped & not processed, animals are being sent back to the farms since the packing plants can't process due to shut down, laying hens are being euthanized by the millions because there's no where to go with the eggs...all because processing/packaging plants are closed due to covid19. Tomato plants are being mowed down. Blueberry crops in the south are not getting harvested. Potatoes are being dumped on piles. The list is endless. Yet, grocery stores are seeing shortages, setting limits and having empty shelves. The missing link is the large scale packing operations being shutdown to due to the spread of covid19 throughout their facilities. This is literally happening right in our backyard in Hamburg. We heard of this instance a few days ago and kicked the wheels into motion to do something. A cage free, home-fed, laying hen operation that is owned and operated by the Zimmerman family in Hamburg, has a contract for liquid eggs delivered to NY. They have told him they can no longer take the eggs, as there is an overabundance of eggs in the system now and no where to go with them due to quarantine. He was told to euthanize his flock of 80,000 laying hens or find other outlets for the eggs. The financial devastation of this is insurmountable. If the quarantine is lifted in a few weeks, a farmer just doesn't come across 80,000 mature laying hens to pick up where he left off. Months, if not years to recover. Mortgages on buildings, his home, financial loss of the birds, providing for his family, etc. ...and yet the eggs are not available in stores, or are limited... So...we may be small, but we are mighty. We are going to try and prevent him from total loss and move his eggs via different avenues. MONDAY (and possibly TUESDAY) we will be having a DRIVE-THRU only distribution of the eggs here. You will stay in your cars, in a line, for a safe, contactless transaction. 5 dozen minimum, increments of 5 dozen only, NO LIMITS. $2/dozen ($10 per 5 dozen, $20/10 dozen, $30/15 dozen etc) We will put a detailed post out Sunday morning for Monday with time-frame and full step by step instructions on how we'll get this to work a well-oiled machine. If you know of any possible distribution outlets, please let us know. Contacts to all foodbanks have been made already and we are awaiting response. Drink a coffee for us & send wing-and-prayer vibes! Again, a separate post will be made Sunday with step by step instructions. Let's do this, Nesting Box peeps! #savethechickens #movetheeggs #WeAreStillFarming #feedthenation #thenestingbox #eggsfordays #literally #farmingtogether

This is so true .... do I want to be at home eating like I’m preparing for the show the biggest gainer no .. is it driving me crazy knowing all of my clients are in desperate need of my services and me of making them feel and look good and just seeing them and hearing about their lives ... yes if there was a different way beleive me I would be on it and anyone who knows me should know this !!! However right now I feel everyone safety and health is worth more could ...everyone just be acting a fool ?! Perhaps but I’m not willing to play Russian roulette with my family and loved ones lives and that being you my clients , my friends , my true family these simple precautions and some reset time could truly be rather awakening of what’s important and what’s really not .... ..... thinking of all of the healthcare and essential people the respect I have for you is without words as soon as I am able I work round the clock to make everyone look like we spent a few weeks on gilligans island I promise you that The closure of Hair Salons through a stylist’s eyes...... The reality of the doors to the salon being closed has set in. The deep cleaning has been done. Clients are being notified. The outgoing announcement on the answering machine explains why we are closed. A sign is hung on the door of the salon notifying of the closure. Now we wait. While we wait, your hair grows, your eyebrows become bushy, your color grows out, and your nails are a mess! While we wait, we look on social media and see other salons taking the same precautions as we are. To protect not only our clients health but also our health and those of our loved ones. While we wait, we notice others in our profession still offering services to their clients who are not sick. How do you know they are not sick when symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure? While we wait, we come to understand it only takes one person not treating this seriously to spread Covid-19. While we wait, we see our two week waiting period being extended because some professionals are not taking this seriously. While we wait, we cannot come to your house and do your hair. While we wait, we stay positive knowing that we have done our part to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. What can you do to help us while we wait? Don’t go to a salon that is open because they have taken all the precautionsfor your health. If this was true their doors would be closed. This affects us all by possibly prolonging our closure. Please don’t put home color on your hair. Ask us and we can recommend what to do if this goes on longer than two weeks. While we wait, know that we miss our clients and can’t wait to continue with our profession we are so passionate about. While we wait, know we value your health more then we value your money. While we wait, we pray for everybody’s safety and health no matter what your profession. God peace and blessings to all. Please share @ Lisa Carr
