Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre 08.12.2020

LTWB has been blessed by the talents of both Dan Pittman and Kalen Churcher both as creative leads of our Summer Youth Workshop (director, choreographer and costumer) and by their acting talents in LTWB main stage productions. Theatre arts have taken a huge hit as we learn to navigate safely through the COVID-19 pandemic and in most situations have to suspend workshops and staging productions. Act Out Theatre group Is primarily a workshop-based youth/children's theatre focusing on theatre education and encouraging creativity, teamwork and self esteem. If you are looking for a place to donate this holiday season look no further then Act Out. https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-act-out

With great sadness, Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre must cancel the performances of A Masked Ball this weekend. Our small cast has been rehearsing in groups of 2 and 3 with multiple safety protocols in place. Because of recent changes in the COVID situation, we’ve decided to stream our masked and distanced performances direct from the LTWB stage early in the new year. We are very grateful for your understanding and patience. This exceptional cast has wonderful things in store for you. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and very happy holidays to you all, friends and neighbors!

He's summitted more than once. He's had to retreat more than once, too. On a bad day, the challenge is too great--so you back off, and let it go. Not this time. She’s missed a few life goals, by just a bit: valedictorian of her class (two-hundredths of a point short). That school she had her heart set on. The top job at her company. On the birding trip of a lifetime, on the beaches of Belize, will she miss the last bird on her life list? Her flight back is tomorrow. (How sure do you have to be, to check off the bird?) Perhaps this small thing means more than it should. Perhaps. Becky Bennett and Bob Balitski are featured in A High Degree of Certainty, one of six short plays in A Masked Ball (with Emotional Distancing), an evening of live theatre at Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre, 537 N. Main, December 11--13, Friday and Saturday at 8, Sunday at 3. AUDIENCE LIMITED TO 25. Call 570 823-1875 to reserve for yourself or a family group, socially distanced and masked, or course. Thank you Ruth Corcoran for highlighting the creative ways local community theatres are keeping the arts alive in the Wyoming Valley. https://www.timesleader.com//life-at-full-throttle-help-ke

There is just something extra special when we get to sit down and talk with Erika Funke. A Masked Ball director and the LTWB GM, David Parmelee, had the opportunity to talk with Erika about a special production we have opening Dec 11 and running through the weekend. Thank you Erika! https://m.soundcloud.com/wv/david-parmelee-december-02-2020
