The importance of the face cloth and the resurrection of Jesus! John 20:3-8 3 So Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb. 4 Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, 7 and the face cloth, which had ...been on Jesus' head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. 8 Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed. This detail is an important resurrection clue! 1. If the body was stolen and the guards were sleeping outside the tomb, no one would take the time to unwrap the body. 2. If the women had the wrong tomb, the grave cloths would not be lying there. Not to mention that the guards would still be at the correct tomb. 3. If Jesus was only raised spiritually and his body was dissolved into gases, the face cloth would not be folded in a place by itself. 4. When John saw the grave cloths, he believed! It was at a REAL TOMB that was REALLY EMPTY with the STONE MOVED and the GUARDS GONE. Jesus later appeared to him ALIVE and the other disciples several times and at one time to 500 people (1Cor. 15:6) What fun would Colombo (TV Detective) have with the Case of the Missing Body. What other possibilities are there other than Jesus rose from the dead and thus proved His claims to be true. Many have tried various theories, but they don’t hold up to the evidence given. The GRAVE IS EMPTY! WE SERVE A RISEN SAVIOR!!!

1st Chaplain KIA: John Rosbrugh, Revolutionary War January 2, 1777 Chaplain John Rosbrugh was the first U.S. Army chaplain killed in battle. He perished in the ...Battle of Assunpink Creek during the Revolutionary War on January 2, 1777. After the American surrender at the Battle of Fort Washington in November 1776, General George Washington wrote a letter to the citizens of Northampton, Pennsylvania requesting that all able-bodied men to come to the assistance of the Continental Army. As a 63-year-old Presbyterian Reverend, Rosbrugh read the letter to his congregation, followed by a sermon featuring Judges 5:23: "Curse ye Meroz, saith the angel of the Lord; curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the Lord against the mighty." The men of Reverend Rosbrugh’s congregation agreed to go willingly only if he would lead them. He reluctantly agreed to serve as commander of the 3rd Northhampton County, Pennsylvania militia, but would soon accept a more preferable commission as a company chaplain. During the second Battle of Trenton, or the Battle of the Assunpink Creek, Rosbrugh was taken prisoner by the Hessians and killed. Chaplain Rosbrugh wrote to his wife in his last communication home seven days before his death: Friday morning, 10 o'clock at Bristol Ferry, December 27th, 1776. I am still yours but I haven't a minute to tell you that by God's grace our company, are all well. We are going over to New Jersey. You would think strange to see your Husband, an old man, riding with a French fusee slung at his back. This may be ye last letter ye shall receive from your Husband. I have counted myself yours, and have been enlarged of our mutual love to God. As I am out of doors I cannot at present write more. I send my compliments to you, my dear, and children. Friends, pray for us. From your loving Husband, John Rosbrugh See more

Pearl Harbor Mistakes or Blessings "Reflections on Pearl Harbor" by Admiral Chester Nimitz. Sunday, December 7th, 1941--Admiral Chester Nimitz was attending a concert in Washington D.C. He was paged and told there was a phone call for him. When he answered the phone, it was President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He told Admiral Nimitz that he (Nimitz) would now be the Commander of the Pacific Fleet. Admiral Nimitz flew to Hawaii to assume command of the Pacific Fleet. He lan...ded at Pearl Harbor on Christmas Eve, 1941. There was such a spirit of despair, dejection and defeat--you would have thought the Japanese had already won the war. On Christmas Day, 1941, Adm. Nimitz was given a boat tour of the destruction wrought on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. Big sunken battleships and navy vessels cluttered the waters everywhere you looked. As the tour boat returned to dock, the young helmsman of the boat asked, "Well Admiral, what do you think after seeing all this destruction?" Admiral Nimitz's reply shocked everyone within the sound of his voice. Admiral Nimitz said, "The Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes an attack force could ever make, or God was taking care of America. Which do you think it was?" Shocked and surprised, the young helmsman asked, "What do mean by saying the Japanese made the three biggest mistakes an attack force ever made?" Nimitz explained: Mistake number one: the Japanese attacked on Sunday morning. Nine out of every ten crewmen of those ships were ashore on leave. If those same ships had been lured to sea and been sunk--we would have lost 38,000 men instead of 3,800. Mistake number two: when the Japanese saw all those battleships lined in a row, they got so carried away sinking those battleships, they never once bombed our dry docks opposite those ships. If they had destroyed our dry docks, we would have had to tow every one of those ships to America to be repaired. As it is now, the ships are in shallow water and can be raised. One tug can pull them over to the dry docks, and we can have them repaired and at sea by the time we could have towed them to America. And I already have crews ashore anxious to man those ships. Mistake number three: Every drop of fuel in the Pacific theater of war is on top of the ground in storage tanks five miles away over that hill. One attack plane could have strafed those tanks and destroyed our fuel supply. That's why I say the Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes an attack force could make, or God was taking care of America. I've never forgotten what I read in that little book. It is still an inspiration as I reflect upon it. President Roosevelt had chosen the right man for the right job. We desperately needed a leader that could see silver linings in the midst of the clouds of dejection, despair and defeat. There is a reason that our national motto is, "IN GOD WE TRUST." See more
