Living as well as possible every day

It was never an easy job to be a mom (or dad). It's even harder with Covid-19 in the mix. In many ways throughout the holidays this year, I felt much as this younger mom did with her teens with my adult son. I wanted to be sitting together in the same room on Christmas Eve & Christmas as we have been for years (without wearing masks as he preferred). Yep, some days I even cried throughout them. I would go back & forth regarding risks I was willing to take. In the end I hope he will truly understand that I was only trying to protect everyone & be here for him & many holidays to come in the future.

Anyone else find this quiet Christmas to be more difficult than our traditional ones? I know 2020 holidays have had ups & downs for many of us. My heart goes out to anyone who has lost family members or dear friends this past year, to covid & otherwise. What I was talking about initially was getting things done we usually do with ease. It’s as if the world has turned upside down & we’re happy when we remember what day it is. Belated Merry Christmas to all! I hope today we all can appreciate what & who we have in our lives. Hoping for a better 2021.

I disagree. I believe each gift & the pleasure it gives to the recipient depends on WHO that person is. People are different regarding expectations & what delights them. Personally, I DO appreciate the thought that goes into any gift I receive. This year the BEST GIFT for me would be for all those I love & care about to be well & ready for BIG CELEBRATIONS in 2021.
