Local 319 would like to congratulate Conrad Gast on his retirement today after 31+ years with the Bureau of Fire. Conrad served on C-Platoon his entire 31 years, with his time on C-platoon he was assigned to the Rescue, Engine 5, Truck 1, and served the remaining 23 years of his career on Engine 1. A master of pump operations and calculations, a reserved friend around the station that would make you laugh to the core at times when a one liner would be spoken. You will be missed Conrad, we will all work some OT for you! Enjoy your retirement!
Today, suppression staffing has increased to 15 (up from 9 on duty 8 years ago) for the term of our 3 year contract with the city that started at the beginning of the New Year. Local 319 body agreed to give up time and half pay for staffing overtime to bring Lancaster Bureau of Fire suppression staffing to 15 in a majority contract vote that happened late last year. The citizens of this city are of Local 319's upmost priority. #IAFF #RedRoseCity #Unionfirefighters #twentytwentyone #Staffing

Today we continue to remember the 343 NYC firefighters who died when the World Trade Towers collapsed. The annual 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb event raises funds for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
