Hats off to Joe Klapec Excavating, it rained here today and it's already been very wet outside in general. Dust would be flying right now if karts were on it. You know your drainage is spot on when clay is this dry this time of the year. Rich Klapec and his crew did an amazing job Excavating and draining this track.

Pictures are great, but hard to determine what things really look like sometimes. Here is a sneak peek of the incredible job Joe Klapec Excavating did digging the track down in and the hours of banking and installing proper drainage for the track. :)

We would like to thank everyone for all the support in building the kart track. We are sorry we have not kept everyone updated. The kart racing track WILL OPEN THOUGH!!! Yes there have been issues with the construction. Permitting had to be changed and of course held us up with both time and finances. The matters have been resolved. But wanted to put to ease alot of rumors pending. It is unlikely we will be open by spring though. Weather is the pending problem! Worst case sce...nario we will host a handful of events closer to mid summer and beyond. These decisions will be made in the very near future as we understand families and teams are already prepping for the 2019 season. Also like to give other tracks the chance to work with us on scheduling. We did make great progress in the short amount of time we had after all the zoning hearings and winter weather setting in. A huge thank you goes out to Joe Klapec Excavating and the Klapec family for stepping in as the official presenting sponsor of the raceway. Rich and Bill and their family spent days and days building a true 1/8 mile banked clay race track with a beautiful drainage system. Joe Klapec and Son Excavating has stood behind everything motorsports related we have done and will be the premier sponsor of the track for years to come. Classes, rules and racing structure are all being worked on. A board of directors is currently being formed to finalize decisions and will stay in place to make the tough decisions tracks face pushing forward. We will also release all this information in the near future. The track will not open until we have a safe, family friendly, competitive racing program in place. Please understand we are looking to build a top notch facility and a premier track in western Pennsylvania. We have been involved in racing most of our lives and have a ton of support behind us, we understand what it takes to race and want to give back to the racers and families and allow them to financially continue to be apart of the sport in a competitive manner. As for the progress, the road to the track is in, gates are in, track is done aside of a little more clay on the surface, drainage is done, 75 percent of the fence is in, foundation for registration and scoring tower is in, light poles are on site, sonic tubes for lights have been poured. Plenty to get done yet though. We greatly appreciate the support and wish you all a safe and happy holiday season. We will update you all again soon. Pictures posted are in no particular order. Just randomly taken as projects were completed. Thank you for the support. See more

Logen Lockhart doubled up tonight and won the Gold Cup Summer Shootout in both the kid kart Feature event and the Red plate feature event at Pittsfield Championship Karting Association. The night was extra special being it was presented by long time sponsor Dennis Robert Kerekanich of DRK Services. This event was special to the Lockhart family and honored to win in memory of him. He will be greatly missed and forever be apart of the Lockhart Motorsports Team.

As many of you know, The Lockhart family took a step back from sprint car racing in 2018. The decision was hard and many things to consider. It was not a financial issue, but more of a family decision. The Lockharts had realized that their son Logen was 5 years old, had yet to ever see their ski boat, had not ever had a lazy Saturday, not experienced many things outside of the fast lane of racing. The gruling day in and day out in the shop all week and gone all weekend left l...ittle time for other activities. Yes it's a blast, and families become one at the tracks. But they decided to focus their attention more on family things and devote their racing attention on Logen's kart racing. With the recent passing of long time sponsor Dennis Robert Kerekanich, the family realizes the decision was the right one. Life is short and kids and family are most important. Logen has taken a very serious approach to racing and it has surly paid off. Logen has captured 16 feature wins in 2018 as they approach mid season. The Lockhart family thanks everyone involved in both the Sprint car program and now the kart racing program. Plans are up in the air moving forward. The Lockharts are standing behind whatever little Logen wants to do. Whatever it may be. Watch the Lockhart Motorsports page as we will update now with Logens progress and whatever else motorsports related the Lockhart family is involved with. See more

Not the weekend or the night Joe Lockhart and the 58 team had hoped for at Ransomville New York. The 58 car didn't fire for heat, the crew quickly diagnosed that and got car out for hot laps. Car was decent for hot laps but needed some changes. The crew made changes and car was excellent handling for qualify, but 2 laps of qualifying wasn't enough for the rookie driver to settle in and make solid laps. Lockhart lined up last for a very stout heat race. There was alot of conta...ct amongst cars inbthe start. Lockhart drove to the top to avoid the mess, unfortunately missingvthe cushion and slamming into the retaining wall. As the tow truck dropped what was lefy of the car at the hauler, the 58 yeam was determined to make it out for the last chance showdown. This crew dug deep, changed front end, wheels, shocks, rear end, jacobs ladder, rear shocks, blead brakes, bird cages, etc etc. Lockhart tailed the rear of the B Main. With only taking 4 to the main, Lockhart fell short Finishing 7th. Absoulety amazing team effort in the 58 pit though. Dakota Olsen, Mike Olsen, Clyde Neal, Dennis Kirkanich. And Rob Kohan for being by his phone to help guide in car set up. See more
