LOGAN Hope 14.01.2021

WE’RE BACK! After Christmas Break and tons of much needed rest, we are so excited to be using Distance Learning as we safely ease back into the flow of the year! We are blessed to be able to connect as a community near and far.

You will never meet another human being as strong or compassionate as Jahnee Lane. After being diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome as a young girl, she has overcome every obstacle that has come her way! Through all of her struggles, Jahnee has kept her sense of humor and her positive attitude. Whether having teachers come by the house to teach her, or serving alongside us each and every day in our mission, nothing stands in her way. Jahnee is now an honor roll student and grad...uating in the 8th Grade class of 2021! We are so incredibly blessed to know her and to be a part of her amazing story! Jahnee is just one of the many students we have the honor and privilege to serve! Check out our website loganhope.org to learn more about how YOU can be a part of our community, and see more students graduate LOGAN Hope! See more

Mr. Sovocool goes above and beyond for the LOGAN Hope community! Over the years he has transitioned from being a classroom teacher to becoming the Head of School at LOGAN Hope! Along the way he has built strong relationships with students and their families that are intentional and genuine. Students feel seen and known as Mr. Sovocool (pre-covid) would shake hands with each individual student as they entered the building for the day. LOGAN Hope is special in that we have t...he ability to get to know each student on a personal level as we seek to disciple each one in the teachings and love of Christ! Mr. Sovocool has dedicated so much to the Logan neighborhood, and it is his passion for this community that drives each member of our team to pour everything we have into making sure our students are loved and educated to a level that sets them up for a successful life. Mrs. Rosemary Lane is a proud parent and beloved team member at LOGAN Hope. As our unofficial "school mom," she makes sure that every child is cared for and nurtured as one of her own. In coordinating our meal service program, she regularly provides over 500 student meals a week at no-cost to the families. She has high hopes for all of our dear students, especially her own daughter who is set to graduate from LOGAN Hope this school year. Mrs. Lane is working alongside our mission to impact positive change in the Logan Neighborhood of Philadelphia!

We are so thankful!! On Monday, December 14th, 2020, LOGAN Hope had it’s annual BLESSING OF HOPE! This is a special day for our community where our amazing board teams up with community partners to gift each student and staff member with special gifts they wished for! It looked different this year with masks and distancing, but joy was safely spread throughout the neighborhood! We had parent pickups and home deliveries where students opened their gifts with pure excitement! God has been so faithful to us in the midst of this season, so providing a blessing to our students was very special! Opportunities like this to give back to our neighborhood and bless our families are the reason we work so hard in Logan! God is good, and we at LOGAN Hope wish you a Merry Christmas!
